Reaktor 5 or lower
Instrument Sampler

DESCRIPTION

Really simple live realtime mashing effect using a Vectory style window (has 5 different patterns), and keyboard masher (stolen from Booglebeta, ands uses Clist Gate macro again). Comes with a sampler for demo. Originally made for an VST effect in LIVE, and has alternative labels for keys when used in LIVE (though you will have to transpose the LIVE keyboard down a bit).

Update 1.1 added live based gui and more patterns to select

Slick little machine. How about some keys to shift through patterns?

Nevermind! Dawned on me. Inserting it as a MIDI instrument (rather than effect) in Live allows the keys to trigger it, and then audio can be routed in from another track. This is amazing.

Love this effect but I'm having trouble getting the keymasher to work in Live. Tried every octave, different routings... Am I missing something fundamental? Thanks.

@ theologiae... Yeah the structure is well simple really! Doing granular pitch shifting wont be too much of a problem I think (may need a little help with this as I'm not entirely sure how to do it)! I did plan to add SVA saved tables, they seem the way forward, or maybe a vectory style 16 way pattern select XY box.. I will have a play and see what happens!

very cool upload. it's structure is dead simple but extremely useful. this will work it's way into a ton of my work. i did change out your tables with ones that work with the snap value array. only because i like working with them more and i don't get stuck with a limited amount of patterns. and i have one suggestion. i would think you could be able to do granular pitch shifting with this guy. because the read index is coming from the vectory grain window, i would guess you could get that going. i tried it out, but i don't "get" it enough to get it working. if you multiply the RX going into the buffer, you get old school pitch shift, which slows the time too, but it sounds a bit tacky. i'll keep looking for a way, but do you have any ideas?

It's good, but where's the master volume control, or the snap volume control?

Very nice and "straight" masher for live sound and mixing (Live). vOOgle has certain good things: Sel.gates for effect (keys to hit) are in instruments so you dont get lost in ensemble. Can be used as example, you might want to add your own effects for mashing more keys. UI is good. It feels bugless for live mashing.
