DESCRIPTION

This is an experimental additive synth with 36 partials for each of three sine banks, which can be detuned against each other and panned manually or by phase-offset LFOs. In addition to supporting ratios from 0-8 for the first 36 partials I have added bipolar offset for a selectable range of partials (Partial Offset, Partial Width) as well as control of the position of this range throughout the spectrum (Offset Position). The XY scans through a range of shapes controlling the ampitude distribution of all 36 partials. You can also turn Integer off which will use rational numbers for Ratio and partial offset for more inharmonic sounds! I have also included wavefolding per partial although this is VERY CPU intensive (as is the use of multiple osc banks) As you can tell this is not one of the strong points of the design although any tips for improving efficiency would be most welcome. Enjoy...

Been working on a new sequencer which should be finished in the next week - then I will revisit this project. Planning to add self-FM and snaps of course :-)

Lane: any news on this wonderful instrument? I hope its not abbandoned...

Steven as I mentioned in the description the ensemble is very heavy on CPU so it may come down to your machine. In any case, try setting Osc 1 and Osc 3 to "Off" and leave Osc 2 on "Dry". Then play around with the Ratio setting and the XY, this is the fastest way to get different sounds.

Well, we're getting somewhere. I'm getting bell sounds now. Have no idea how to change the sound. Also, getting processor overload errors.

Increased output level slightly and am working on making some cool snapshots :) Steven, I would try the newest version as I suspect the lack of sound may have had to do with a snapshot being selected that was referencing a much older structure. Let me know if this makes a difference.

Ah yes. Actually the snapshots are from a much earlier version, the structure is completely different now so will not be compatible. My mistake, I did not remember to delete the old snapshots. Have not gotten around to designing new ones but will soon. I have uploaded the ensemble without any snapshots so as not to confuse anyone.

Lane, it does show incoming MIDI. I even see the view screen moving. Just no sound. All other ensembles I have work fine so not sure what could be causing this.

very interesting and complexe output:) needs an post amp module, most of the time the volume is very very low...

Some snapshots made no sound at all on my Mac. No 15 and other Keys**, yes.

Hi Steven, I am on a Mac so not sure what I can do to help... seems to work in Live 64 bit so probably not a 64 bit thing. Is your instance of Reaktor showing incoming MIDI?
Steven Wagenheim

No sound at all. Doesn't work on latest Reaktor build Windows 7 64 bit in Cubase 7.0 64 bit.

Lane, if you pack your ens with RAR the is less to 190 kB.
