TRAKTOR DJ works with Apple's Core Audio framework on the iPad to stream audio to compatible audio interfaces. iOS version 6 is required for this. If supported by the audio interface, this allows for separate stereo channels for both the Master and Cue / Monitoring outputs. This way you can pre-listen to your tracks in stereo independently of the Master output.
Note: TRAKTOR DJ currently allows to select one audio device at a time. You cannot use an external audio interface and the internal headphone jack of your iPad at the same time.
Basically, you can use any class-compliant audio device with TRAKTOR DJ. This includes dedicated iOS audio interfaces which connect directly to the dock connector as well as standard USB audio interfaces requiring the optional Apple Camera Connection Kit.
However, since we have not tested all of the available devices, we cannot guarantee the compatibility of any particular class-compliant audio device with the iPad and TRAKTOR DJ except the interfaces from our product range that have been tested and approved (see below). Please refer to the manufacturer of your device for more information regarding iOS compatibility.
Also note that the iPad does not provide sufficient power over the USB connection. Audio interfaces which can only be powered over the USB bus will only work when using a self-powered USB hub in between the audio interface and the iOS device. If available, always use the power adapter of your device.
The following Native Instruments audio interfaces are compatible with iOS 6 on the iPad and TRAKTOR DJ, as long as the listed firmware version has been successfully installed to the device:
