Reaktor 5 or lower

DESCRIPTION

Många 2, like Många 1 is a two osc synth whereby you randomise or draw the source waves yourself. The waves that you create are stored and loaded with any snapshots that you may create.
Version two is considerably changed and improved but now uses even less CPU time.
Key features of version 2:

Reverb redesigned for better sound
Sync osc 2 to osc 1
FM osc 2 with osc 1
Modulation routing simplified
Modulation controlled with XY controllers
Randomisation of waves vastly improved
DC removed early on in osc for better fidelity
Wave is now read with a ramp for faithful reproduction
Key sync of LFOs improved
Velocity sensitivity control
Auto switch off of unused effects
Quite a few presets, in two banks

and, at no extra cost:

TWO, fully working, authentically inaccurate and pointless, VU meters

I think that's it.
Good luck,

Paul

Out of the 110 Reaktor ensembles I've downloaded, this is my favorite. Excellent work, and great sounds. Every time I hop on synthopia and think about blowing a bunch of money on some vintage analog synth, I come back to ensembles like this one and save my money!

One of the better synths I have come across; Manga has a very distinct sound.

I like this one - don't know if I'd use it much, but the sounds are unique and drawing the waves is fun.

gee that's funny, manga are cartoon books in japanese...so before you mentioned the swedish? I thought it was a cool connection to the /drawing your own waves/ feature...synchronous h

a wonderful instrument! in addition, i am finding that the Random Tables, when exported, are working quite nicely for me in other ensembles. this is a big deal for me, [novice], since i've never gotten any of the existing random-table-maker utils to work, and i never did have a desire to scribble tables out on the screen. :) so, thanks for that too! :) -aqaraza

Yes Norman, you are right, but you probably need to collaborate with a mathematician not me. I am a friggin' idiot. Of course you can save yourself a shed load of work by buying Absynth. Good luck old chap.

He who draws waveforms soon finds out that the time domain is not as interesting as the frequency domain. I'm working on an ensemble that will convert spectra into wavetables. Maybe a collaboration would be in order.

Thanks for the encouraging comments, the pleasure is all mine. Många (pronounced "mongar") means "many". I called it that because of the large number of waveforms you can use as your source material thus making many different sounds. I've only lived in this wonderful country for a year though so "min svenska är inte så bra". Next year, if I am not utterly sick of Reaktor, I will be coming up with much better Swedish names.

Crazy beautiful. From another planet. Manga is Swedisch for what?

the design on this is incredible ! it just goes to show you how far you can take your imagination in reaktor. if a retro / vintage feel sparks your imagination, just create an interface that suites the type of feel your trying to capture. only in reaktor !!!!

Norman, dead easy - by cheating. The waves are described 32 points which are held in sample and hold modules during playback. When a snapshot is saved, each of the points is saved with a snap module. It's rather crude, but the only way until NI incorporate auto saving of tables with snapshot data. I tried doubling up the number of points to 64 but it didn't really make enough difference to the sound to justify the extra CPU time. Hej Mikael! I go to SFI three times a week and I have to keep practicing, even at weekends...
