I reckon you could do a similar thing with Note Repeat and setting the Velocity to go to Start Point on a looped sample. You simply lock in Note Repeat after setting up the Sound, then the pressure of how hard or soft you're holing down the pad will determine from where the loop is started each time.

this looks interesting but how do you set the velocity to trigger variable start points on a sample?

In the built in sampler — you know the one where you have ADSR, the filter, the compressor, etc. — you flip to one of the last pages. I think it's called velocity. You can send the velocity input to the filter, to the start point, to volume, and maybe something else. Just set velocity to volume to none, then it plays full volume all the time, and then set the velocity to start point to an appropriate percentage.

I see what you're getting at...I can't really make it work like I'd like it to work though. I think I want something similar to the audio mangling of Ableton when you slice audio to a midi track and the start, loop length, loop compress macros are linked to the samplers start, loop & length of all the other slices. hmmm

another tip i founded :

- once you've load a vst in one slot and find your melody or rythm with it you can press the sample function directely on this same slot , play your sound and once you hit the stop sample button , the plug is directely replaced by you sample ... and this work with any plug or sound ! then you got your sample that you can edit , slice etc and you save a lot your cpu . .

I'm such a dumb***!

to switch between instruments in keyboard mode I would always hit pad + keybo to exit and and press pad+ keybo again for the next sound....when I could've easily just held SELECT and pressed my next sound!

****! SO much faster now.

wow, such simple things make so much of a difference haha! thanks for that! feel kinda stupid right now as wel lol

A little tip to phatten your bass/leads etc:

Lay down your (say) lead part....not screaming/cutting through enough? Copy the lead part pattern, paste it on the same sound slot, then nudge it back so that it is EXACTLY on top of the previous (identical) pattern....notice the difference people!

Found this out completely by accident, but does the job when you want to fatten your sounds!

all that does is just makes it louder..identical waveforms boost the amplitude! you might be better off turning everything else down except the part that isnt cutting through...although panning them and slightly detuning one of them will fatten it up considerably to give a chorus effect.

Or just add compression. That'll make it punch through, because sometimes you need it to be louder and not fatter.
