Bug Reports for Traktor Pro 2.5.1 (NO Ranting please!)

Interesting one here, it was in 2.5.0 but probably not an issue for most people. Testing with my older laptop (MacBook 2.2GHz, 6GB, 500GB Hybrid, 10.7.4) ...

When Traktor is open full screen, switch to Finder, open Safari and then make it go full screen (top right corner 2 arrows), then Command/Tab back to Traktor and you get a quick flash of Traktor and then black screen. Sound and everything keeps playing.

Go back to Safari, change back to normal screen (change back from full screen app), Cmd/Tab to Traktor and you still have a black screen. You need to quit Safari to get your Traktor screen back.

This also happens with my live rig MacBook Air 13" (2011) running 10.7.2 (it's stable so no need to change) with 2.5.0 as well.

This does not happen when you go to Dashboard and back to Traktor (Dashboard is another full screen app or space, always on by default).

My guess is that it has to do with the Full Screen App feature of Lion, basically it's like the old "Spaces" where you can have multiple desktops running different apps. Traktor full screen is more of a Maximise, maybe the Full Screen App feature of Lion should be explored a bit more?

As I said though, not a deal breaker but more of an observation. It's not like any of us need to have Facebook open at our gigs ...

Also noticed that when I play an AIFF for the first time and it analyses it, there is a very slight stutter to the track when the analyse is finished if you are playing it straight away.

Not very often that I'll drop a new track live without listening to it either before the gig or just on Cue in the headphones ... so again not a deal breaker for me but for others that get given a track at a mobile gig and just hit play it might be an issue.

well i said earlier id let you know how i went, well after 3 points of discussion and no result with the X1 problem i went to the extreme of uninstalling Traktor SP and and reinstalling SP 2.5.1 as a fresh install , after the set up "WALLA", X1 works again, and all systems go. still cant understand why the update failed the X1 to work after it working before hand, but quick question, Does the new install count as the "2nd" computer? , and if i say, "get a new computer", cani use the same serial that came with my software? cheers

Test with X1 here, works fine after update from 2.5 to 2.5.1 on MacBook.

The bug I've noticed since upgrading is when using my T1 if I use the shift function and quickly scroll through my effects to switch to a new one occasionally, and I mean once or twice, I had a complete audio dropout. This also happened using the browser knob on the T1 when scrolling through playlists to find a track it dropped out once or twice. I'm gonna keep testing it out to see if it will do it again.

Ummm ... the "LO" control now does nothing ... and it doesn't "KILL" either ...

Not sure what I've done to break it, I was re-mapping my X1 to control EQ with FX 1,2,3 knobs, went to try and turn down LO, audio does not change but it does register on the screen.

This is with the Xone and NUO type of EQ ... Classic and P600 seem to work.

I updated to Traktor 2.5.1, however I have problems mapping an LPD8:

Pad 5 is mapped to CUP (Midi In), when I try to map Play (Midi Out) to the same Pad 5 the deck crash, if I press Pad 5 the selected deck start changing from CUP to Play over and over, the song cracks because of this and the pad flashes very fast, it sound like when you set a very short loop (cracking sound). If i click on play nothing happens, it will stop if I press cue.

I am not mapping any Midi In for Play, only Midi Out, but I can't get it to work, I used to work just fine with previous version but I changed the Midi channel and CC mesages for my controllers so I have to remap all.

Anybody knows how to fix it?

I submitted this issue as a ticket to support in order to raise awareness of how the FX slots now function in contrast to how they used to function prior to the 2.5 release.

Firstly, Traktor does not seem to remember FX states in advanced mode upon launch. For example, attached is how I use the Delay in FX slots 3 & 4 always. I never adjust these parameters, and I control them with a simple On/Off macro button from my X1. I have the slots' states saved as a snapshot and Traktor always used to reload the FX parameters in the state I previously left them last session. Not so anymore on 2.5 & 2.5.1.

As you can see from the 2nd attached screen shot, Traktor loads them to neither my previous settings nor my saved snapshot (which are both always the same for the delay in FX 3 & 4.) Furthermore, it is not even consistent from slot to slot, as you can see the Traktor's load-up parameters are different for the Delay in both FX Slots 3 & 4.

I have found that hitting the RST button will restore my snapshot parameters, however, having to do this is not consistent with the behavior of previous releases. For now this a work-around, but is disruptive to workflow as with previous versions the user could just "set it & forget it."

Secondly, switching from chained to advanced mode & back now loads whatever fx was active in advanced mode to the first slot in chained mode (and vice-versa.) For example, I have a Hotkey mapped to swap FX states FX 1 & 2 between Chained & Advanced. Previously it was possible to have a dedicated FX in the advanced state and a separately dedicated FX setup in Chained mode. Let's look at the attached example of my default FX setup.

As you can see, I always use the same combo of Beatmasher, Gater, & Iceverb in Chained Mode in FX Slots 1 & 2. But sometimes I like to use a Flanger in advanced mode in one or both of these decks. Having previously set this up, all I have to do is hit my Hotkey and swap from Chained Mode to Advanced and there is my Flanger, ready to use. Not so in 2.5.1.

Now, switching from Chained to Advanced will load whichever FX is in Slot 1 of the Chain (in this case Beatmasher) into Advanced mode. Now I have to manually select the Flanger to use it, ruining the spontaneity that previous version of Traktor allowed. Furthermore, when I want to switch back to my Chained mode setup, I will now have that Flanger occupying Slot 1 of the Chain where the Beatmasher previously would be. Again the user must select the desired FX manually (as there is not a Snapshot RST for Chained FX,) creating a very inefficient FX workflow.

Lastly, switching between Chained & Advanced mode still causes slight disruptions in the playback sound.

this is a fullscreen related bug...yes...it doesnt bother me...so i never complained about it

good to know you got it working...& no...it does not count as a different computer...you can keep repeating the install reinstall process on the same computer as many times as you like...

this kind of behavior isn't unheard of...even mac os itself works better when installed on a clean drive...sometimes the simple upgrade breaks things...i don't program software so i don't know why.

- Every now and then, the screen just freezes with no apparent reason. Luckily the sound is not affected. I just wait and fear for Traktor to shut-down.

- The files in browser are blinking.

- When I use the slider to the right in browser with my mouse, sometimes it keeps following the mouse even after I have released the button. I have to press the button again to let go.

- In 2.5.1 (and 2.5) it takes at least double amount of time to import new tracks.

- Analyzing tracks seems much slower (2.5 and 2.5.1)

So it's working fine now ... Not sure what was going on.

Playing tracks last night for my daughter's 8th birthday (about 4 hours) and it seemed to work fine, althought I'm a bit over One Direction and LMFAO, lol.

maybe the same bug:
when i activate loops via midi (xone:4d) te track jumps to some other location, usually at the beginning of the track. didnt have that before.
sometimes when using midi via xone:4d window focus jumps to another app! never had this before neither...

I have an issue with 2.5.1 which i didn't had before with 2.1.3: Traktor tells me when importing from iTunes new tracks in collection, "ERROR: COVER ART: picture file size is too big"

I have to mention it's only when importing in collection because using the right click "import cover" with 1000 px covers works.

Didn't know what it really means; If it's about resolution/pixels sizing or Kilobit/Mbit weight limitation? Is this new?

Most of my tracks in iTunes have 1000x1000 px or more, so it's a real issue, making me many unwanted steps of copy/paste/resizing/export/import embed pictures in workflow, considering it was working fine before.

I hope this could be fixed in next update.
