recording my beatport sync mixes

hi all iam running a pc system with cubase sl3 and emu 1820m soundcard ,iam using headphones plugged in to front of card to moniter , i know that sync does not have any export function to record mixes for burning etc, but i have been told by beatport that you can use other software to record my mixes, so i installed audacity free but iam not getting any recording levels showing when i hit record? whilst playing a tune in sync ,is there a way to record my mixes in cubase ,or is it better to try and do it through audacity, if anyone could guide me through the steps to get this set up it would be of much help

Audacity should be ok for recording, but you have to choose the correct input source. There is a dropdown to the upper right in the Audacity window where you can change this ("Stereo Mix" works for me).
Maybe that helps, or you need to change some other settings in Audacity.

hello there mate. you gotta go to the preferences of audacity to playback- built in output and recording- to built in input. then plug in ur cables from the mixer into the laptop. JUST WONDERING are you a mac because i record my mixes but i have a problem in coverting them to mp3s. The programs wont let me so people can only hear it if they have the program which is a problem for trying to get your mixes out there to the public.
Thank man,
Lemme now if you find a way to get mp3 or some sort of coversion for audacity.
