I am pretty new here, but recently picked up a Stealth Pedal (from ikMultimedia) for use with Amplitube, but I also use Guitar Rig and I was told that it could be used with GR3 as well. However, I can't seem to find any clear information on how set up an outside midi-controller with GR3. Thanks for any suggestions.

You just right click or control click the parameter, midi learn it and then move your stealth pedal all the way up and down.

THanks so much for the reply. Unfortunately, that sounds like what I was doing already. It seems like GR is not "seeing" the midi output from the pedal for some reason. Is there some trick to setting the midi channel or something?

You would have to go into the MIDI settings and make sure that the ins and outs are all turned on for all devices, if the pedal does not show up in the MIDI settings menu then try reinstalling drivers, and connect the MIDI pedal to any MIDI device and try and link it, I think the stealth pedal will only work via MIDI in GR3/4. If you have Rig Kontrol, connect the midi outs and ins from the pedal to the controller if there are any ports.

Also check the preferences in Guitar Rig... It defaults to MIDI channel 2 instead of ch 1... Most of my devices are either "ALL" or "1", but never just "2".... It's under "Options" --> "Preferences"... second box down.

Thanks so much for the attempts to help - sorry it's taken me so long to respond. Unfortunately, I *still* haven't solved the problem, and I think I probably need to find someone local who can sit down in the studio with me and walk me through it to see what I am doing wrong. Any other suggestions will be welcome, but thanks to those replied! - Dave

You have to open the "stealth pedal midi control" program at the same time when using Guitar Rig.

Dr. Note - thanks for that suggestion. I got the Stealth Pedal to work with GR *in standalone mode.* In Standalone mode, there is a dropdown menu that has a "Preferences" option that allowed me to change Audio and Midi settings (in particular to change Midi Inputs for the Stealth PEdal to ON from OFF). Unfortunately, I run GR as a plug in within ProTools whenever I use it, so even though it is cool to be able to control GR with the Stealth in standalone mode, it's not really functional.

Perhaps somewhere in Guitar Rig (operating as a plug in within PT) there is an analogous menu that would allow me to make the same change as I did in standalone. If so, I haven't found it. So close and yet so far...
