Idea for NI: Reaktor 6 with NI Controller!
Think of it! Going with their current direction of hardware/software combos, ala Maschine and the new Traktor controller. I'm thinking something like Maschine, with the LCD screens, but with more knobs and less pads, or none at all. It would have transport controls, knobs, sliders, xyz pad...

i must admit i would like NI to build a Controller with 16 knobs and and 2 or 3 xys.
but i don't want this to be part of a Reaktor 6 update.

I'm not entirely sure this is a good idea. Is there a way to do it that meets the needs of most users? Is 16 drum pads and 16 knobs fader 3 xy enought to meet our needs?
How about the mouse area modules, they are very useful but they also suck because it forces me to use the mouse.

Well, no, nothing is ever enough But, if the knobs had some pages ala Nord Modular G2. And, 16 pads lined up along the bottom could function as switches or be used in a step sequencer. @ Sowari, obviously, say, existing owners could upgrade as normal and opt to get the controller ala Guitar Rig and Komplete. And, for new owners, NI could boost the price up to something near Maschine's price. I honestly think in today's climate, this could provide a boost to NI, as Reaktor is long in the tooth, and something really different might be needed to stand out amid Max/Msp's ties to Ableton, people using synthedit for free, etc...
I think NI's move to hardware and hardware/software integration is the way to go, without being dongles. It's an incentive to actually buy software, and offers a wow factor. I believe Maschine's software is cracked out there already, but what's the use without the amazing controller?
Next will be an Absynth keyboard with assignable xy's, horizontal sliders like its performance page, maybe 37 keys, about the size of arturia's analog factory controller...

Is the controller a dongle? I dont want anything that forces me to have to have the controller connected. I would prefer the way that it done now.
But I do agree that a really cool controller does make me want to purchase the really cool software. I'm still waiting to go that that kore2 deal perhaps this summer if I can get Komplete as well, no point without having Komplete as well .

How bout a controller whose knobs, sliders, & buttons are kind of like "Lego Blocks". You could rearrange and recombine them for a custom physical controller for any ENS you need. The basic kit could come with, say, 12 to 16 each of knobs, sliders, & buttons. You could buy more as needed.

fwiw, the Maschine Controller works extremely will with Reaktor. you get a Controller Editor Application, which makes setting up destinations for all the knobs buttons and pads very easy.
also the Kore Controller can now make use of the same Controller Editor as well, so you can use that outside of Kore to send MIDI.
i have been doing gigs where i use Kore to host Zootooks Synth-In-A-Case, and use both the Kore Controller and the Maschine Controller to tweak the Synth's knobs. it is great fun and very creative and it is nice not to have to stare at a Computer screen
the only thing missing for me is an xy track pad or a joystick that could trigger Reaktor xys.... and i suppose i could also do with a few more knobs
btw, neither of the Controllers are dongles (although that was one the case with Kore). however, the Maschine Software does have quite a few parameters that can only be accessed with the Controller. it does work without the Controller, but only make sense on plane journeys, where space is limited.

I use Behringer BCR-2000 and BCF-2000 with Reaktor - those controllers are great but it would be just nice to have more presets for best synths.
Maby only XY controller would be nice also to have there. But I can live without it as for now.

No, I meant that the controller would not be a dongle. With Maschine, I can still use the software without it.

I'm telling you guys, this is the way to go. If anyone here took a look at the new Traktor x1 controller, its pretty much the same height and length as the Maschine controller, so they match and look great side by side, I'm imagining the Reaktor controller could follow the same logic. I'd get rid of my remote sl in a heartbeat to have some continuity/aesthetics. I wish I had time to knock up a photoshop sample based on the Maschine/Traktor controller! Hey NI, I'm available for freelance consulting!

A dedicated controller for an open environment seems a little weird. Unless maybe they bundle it with the Lemur. =)

I will not be spending $3000 for reaktor. I really really like reaktor but I don't like it that much
