Yes, the sample library and effects are mostly geared towards electronic/ minimal/techno imho.
Cool thing is you make patterns in a other way then traditional sequencing, and get the coincidence factor going.
That said, you can make any kind of music of course

btw are the bodzin and dominik eulberg samples good?

Can I tweek all the samples? Like change it's pitch, direction, apply EFX to a single sample row (and not to the entire drum sequence)?

yes, solid.

yes.

Maschine has great routing options, so you could just route the four sounds of one row through any other group or sound, where you would put the efx.

I agree with res308. You won't be disappointed if minimal techno is your style!

You can make whatever you like in Maschine, you can change every sound in a lot of ways, turn a sound into another sound and keep going...

Drums come out clean and ready to use but there could be a few more synth samples if you ask me (you'd still probably want a proper synth somewhere)

It sounds good straight out of the box but you can make things your own quite easy.

Short answer: Yes, but look around features forums to see if there's anything missing you need...

Off topic: How do you guys create melodies? Which libraries do you use? I mean, it's hard to create evolving melodies with stabs and short chords ..

of course you can - use the loop function in the sample editor. Change sampling mode from one shot to adsr and go crazy with a stab.

you can virtually create everything out of anything.

Isn't that what suicide server makes? I think he's the poster boy for minimal techno on NI Maschine.

"You can make whatever you like in Maschine, you can change every sound in a lot of ways, turn a sound into another sound and keep going..."

Amen to that! One thing they don't really tout about maschine is the sound design aspect of it.
