SSL Database Importer for Traktor now available
Hi all,
Due to popular demand, we have created a "Traktor SSL Database Importer". This application can import the database, specific crates and individual folders from any SSL 1.9.1 installation complete with cue point and loop information into Traktor Pro/Duo/LE version 1.1.2 and upwards.
The importer is available for free download here:
Mac version
Windows version
The manual for the application is attached.
If you have specific questions or suggestions, post them here!
Regards, Thomas

Incredible news. This is particularly great for those thinking of switching. TSP is where it's at! Keep up the great work.

This will work for Itch as well, since Itch and SSL use the same database.

I'm proud of NI as well.
Do you think people would be interested in a Virtual DJ database converter as well?
It's userbase is a lot smaller than Serato's so I'm not sure whether its a waste of time.

having just switched from serato to traktor scratch pro right before the new year, this is absolutely perfect for me, since i was loathing the fact all of my nicely organized crates were now just one giant jumble.
going to give it a try tonight...

Wow, this just made my day. Ive been having so many technical issues with setting up Traktor since I got it a few days ago. THis post just made things a little better.
---
One question, will this affect my Serato crates or files. Will I still be able to use them with Serato

Does this import the bpm information as well?
The manual didn't mention anything pertaining to this.

I just checked this for you.
It imports the BPM as well, but rounds it to the next intger. e.g. 102.81 BPM in SL become 103 BPM in Traktor.
So you better analyze them again. Traktor has a better BPM-detection algorithm anyway.

Thanks for checking that out for me. I'm a Serato user but I'd like to use Tpro to put sets together while on the couch.
Also I've found the opposite to be true in regards to bpm tagging. That's why I wanted to know if Traktor would convert bpms. The rounding up/down is fine with me.

@ Steve
The importer will not alter your SSL database. It's a read-only tool that just pulls the info from the SSL tags and coverts them to Traktor format.

Don't forget there is a SSL keymap file as well in the sticky threads. It has the same keymap as SSL with extended features of Traktor added.
