Kore 2 Reaktor Toolpack

Hello, I have been working on a project called the Kore 2 Reaktor Toolpack. This is a collection of Reaktor ensembles that add or extend the functionality of Kore 2 in the areas of midi processing and live effects.

You can find out more about the Kore 2 Reaktor Toolpack by visiting this webpage:

http://www.jonathanleonard.com/sounddesign/K2RTP

Thanks,

jonathan adams leonard

Wow that is just fantastic - my K2 is in the post but as soon as I get it I'll be on these - programme change itself will be useful to me for using with Hartman Neuron VS (which only changes patch with PC messages)

thanks

I've been playing around with this for quite some time, and in my opinion it's one of the handiest collection of tools I've come across in a long time.

Once again thanks for doing this, Jonathan =)

And, thanks for making this a sticky, Thomas.

Update: Kore2MidiX8

Version 1.1 071114

+ Kore2MidiX8

Comment:
Based on user feedback the Kore2midi solution was expanded to 8 pages in the Koresound, and 8 macros in reaktor. The 8 macros are switchable using the panel index control. This allows for more complete control of plugins such as Atmosphere.

That's interesting - I never could get atmosphere to work with KORE (except play of course). It doesn't expose any parameters that can be made into user pages so how do you manage it with the new ensembles?

The KORE2MIDI is not working with Reaktor 5.1.3 in KORE2. Do I really have to do a downgrade to Reaktor 5.1.2?

Requirements

The latest public version of Reaktor from NI is 5.1.2.009 iirc. Where did you get that version of Reaktor? In any event, you can send me an email if something does not work and I will try to include a fix for the next update.

Thanks Muzel!

Atmosphere Midi Spec

Hi there Kymeia, from what I am told you refer to the Atmosphere midi specification which is deeper than the few controls exposed to vst automation. Another forum member John Foll has been working on a version of Kore2midi that is defined for the Atmosphere midi CC. He has also informed me that other such synths like the Emu rely on midi and can be controlled this way as well.

Confusing.

When I open Reaktor within Cubase 4 it says it is Version 5.1.2.009.

When I open Reaktor within KORE2 it says it is Version 5.1.3.001. No Idea why.

However. The KORE2MIDI is sending data when I use it directly in Reaktor.

When I use it in KORE2 the MIDI-LED in Reaktor is lighting but no data is going to the external MIDI -Outs of KORE. (MIDI-Outputs are activated.) Any Idea?

Another one: Jonathan says he uses KORE Version 2.0.1.002.

The newest one I can get is 2.0.0.005. Strange.

Ah... I can clear up both.

The internal engine in Kore for Reaktor's 5.1.3 with the release version. Evidently, the internal engine's being used, since that's the newest version that Kore sees (check your version Jonathan- it's later than 5.1.3).

Jonathan has that version of Kore because he's in the beta group; he's a former product specialist who's a very active member of most of the beta groups.

Cool...

Great man thanks for the details! The newer version number is coming from the integrated Reaktor engine I believe. NI calls them engines in some creative word trickery; they are just vst plugins without the GUIs.

To get midi out of Kore you will need to check a few things:

-Audio/Midi Settings/Midi: Enable a midi output port for Kore to use in the bottom pane. Make note of the midi out port name.

-Channel Parameters/Midi: Locate the first midi output of the Kore channel you are using and set it to the name of the port you selected above. By default, a new performance will have channels' midi out set to none.

Hope this helps,

Which brings up something it helps to be aware of;

At the present time, if you save a Reaktor ensemble from inside Kore 2, you'll be out of sync as far as versions go. The chances are high you'll get the dreaded "this was made by a newer version..." flag when trying to open the saved ensemble in standalone or as a plugin not inside Kore. I had that happen to me a couple months ago =(

I think I'll make that a sticky. Thoughts?
