Not quite [OT] - YM2612

I'm thinking of building an emulation of the Yamaha YM2612 chip. The chip was used in the Sega Mega Drive (known as the Genesis absolutely everywhere else except the UK).

I know it had 6 stereo channels of FM, and there must have been an LFO in there somewhere, but I know nothing about the signal routing or waveforms. I know it was similar to the chips used in the DX27 and DX100.

Does anyone have or know where I can get more technical information about the chip?

thanks
mark

You could maybe try emailing someone who's made a megadrive emulator.

I've emailed richard bannister (www.bannister.org) who's emulated just about every console ever made, but as yet there's been no reply. Perhaps he's busy.

Thanks, i'll take a look. Finally come back to the board after a wonderful illness. Never walk 6 miles at 4am in freezing temperatures, you'll regret it for the next week...
