Sound output question

I'm on a Mac G5 and have my external speakers plugged into my earphone jack and I have a USB headset that I use when DJing. But I can't get Beatport Sync to see my USB headset as a viable option for sound output. Is there any way to fix this or am I screwed?

Since the G5 in question had it's logic board fail catastrophically, I suspect this was an early indication of a hardware fault. This is no longer an issue.
