DESCRIPTION

Hybrid-Sequenced Synth/Sampler for (more or less) rythmic bleeps, glitches, arps, noizes, textures, percussions, melodies and basslines, MacroMashup:

This mp3 just contains 'short' snippets of 10 snapshots:
http://mp3.vivaliebtdichnicht.de/doda_v2.mp3

* 50 new doda2-snapshots
* uncountable 'bug'-fixes compared to v1.2 (*grin*)
* just as similar cpu-hungry as v1.2
* doda2 now offers 3 sample-slots, containing already a small doda.map, which can be abused for krypt, limelite & co (sample-cuts are on 120bpm)
* added kickdrum (mmmld1)
* added awesome grauverb- & reso-macros (dieter zobel)
* each sequence can now be randomized separately (thanks to rachMiel for the excellent workshop)
* included rachMiels randoMation for endless evolving textures, bleeps & arps
* re-wired a few things to make doda v2 even more versatile and unique
* panel/gui-redesign

enjoy and feel free to mash it, to mangle and modify it as YOU love and like!

Paule, you're a lucky guy! We soon will probably cancel the domain vivaliebtdichnicht.de to save some money as this domain isn't really in use for more than about 2 decades. Funny you found this link and that it still works. ;)

Most links in the text vanished after a half year. This one "http://mp3.vivaliebtdichnicht.de/doda21.zip" is actual after 10 years. Wow and thanks Der Einmeier und Frau Overbröd!

2 ashley, maybe also give doda v2.1 a try (see the link in the previous comment), i'll also add a very special ashley'mizer for v2.2 - if you'd like to? ;-)

Thanks for the map, going to set myself to some further exploration today. I can tell you right off this new version is acting different, more in line with the example mp3...maybe the original had Mac issues? Anyway, thanks for the update, I think it will now yield some interesting tracks in the tradition of 'post techno Duchampianism' (to borrow from Keith Rowe's comments about the 'Mimeo' project). Nice job and thanks for all the updates and comments ;-)

2 mr. gibson, this file contains a nice .map and a few fixes: http://mp3.vivaliebtdichnicht.de/doda21.zip 2 mr. miller, uh, even if you browse thru all the snaps it doesn't sound even a bit similar to the .mp3 ? even if you max als parameters at the 'mix'-section (the long parameter-row at the top) ..?

i can't get this thing to make any sound. the one or two blips that come out of it are also incredibly quiet. is there a manual? i'm finding this ensemble kind of underwhelming, especially considering the hype written above... g

Asap i'll upload a huge .map (maybe will take a few days) but as the mp3 already demonstrates, doda2 IS very versatile and pretty chameleonic, but the sound is in general thicker and smoother and more complex: basically the spacemaster is responsible for the smooth and 'washy' sound, so just turn it off or delete the macro and then you'll get similar, dry bleeping and glitching sounds as from doda v1.2. ;-)

Would love to get the map, I am having difficulty getting as much variety as I did with the previous version (1.2 I think it was?). I think a map might help hear what you are hearing. I tried several different scenarios using the rachMielizer (which I use in several of my ensembles) but the output remained strangely self-similar, whereas 1.2 under the main Snap randomizer generated a pretty wide variety. Perhaps the map will help unlock the potential? Either way I love the concept and look forward to further study of it's capability.

If you're interested in, we can provide a quite wicked .map hosted on our very own webspace so the main .zip containing the ensemble itself won't explode concerning the filesize. Just a short feedback if you guys are interested in might be marvellous, so we'll spend some more time on creating a new doda.map with loads of strange sounds ;-)

Chris, Hint: click on the tiny menu-buttons of the rachMielizer and then re-connect the icSends as you like it 'till doda becomes an hyper-morphing supernoizeglitchtexturemaker :-)

Thnaks for the quick update, the coffee is brewing ;-)

Ops, sorry, just updated. now doda2 contains a few samples, at least you shouldn't get any errors anymore? doda does what dodas usually do. but you don't do doda. dodas don't like to get doda'ed. in other words: it's an experimental toy with an abstrakt gui and a few but powerful possibilites to tweak the sound whilest doda doesn't _allow_ you to influence the basic shape of any sequence. :-) - and you can still spend hours: use the 'rachMielizer', doda instantly morphs itself, so make yourself a cup of coffee and a few minutes later you have a completely new sequence, acidish basslines morph slowly into nice and fluffy pads, grainy glitches become to sweet melodies... then de-activate the icSend-rachMielizer and store the snapshot once you found something which fits perfectly to your needs. you can spend hours finding new and strange sounds. 8-) thanks for the feedback so far, basically it's just a macromashup *biggrin*

93 samples not found.Thats ok though, sounds very interesting anyway, but I'd like some more descriptions, like, which sequence is triggering the samples???
