Reaktor 5 or lower
Effect Dynamics

DESCRIPTION

It uses two envelope followers with different attack and release settings and subtracts the two signals. This control signal is multiplied with the original signal.

Hints:

Trans_Release: "Release Short" should always be smaller than "Release"

Be careful with the level controls - it can get very loud.

Thanks for this, I use the ADSR envelope on my sampler and Reason's rexplayer alot, and have been looking for ensembles akin to Logic's Enveloper in the user library - this was very helpful. Interesting that Dominion was mentioned, as I have been playing with adding features like Dominion's (to the best of my ability - i.e. salvage style) to the few transient formers in the library. This includes a saturation stage (I used the wonderful 't-oob' instrument) an exciter and a compressor/limiter.

Ok. The basic idea is to shape the attack and release phase of any given audio material independently. The default settings will work with most drum sounds. To decrease room information just lower the "Rel.Level" to your liking and maybe increase "Att.Level" a bit. To get an even dryer sound dial down 'Trans_Attack's' "Release" and "Attack" potis. If you want the contrary - a very wet sound with much room information, upper the "Rel.Level" and maybe lower the "Att.Level". To shape the release phase adjust the 'Trans_Release' settings to your liking. Increasing the "Release" settings gives you more room information. With "Release short" you can basically choose the parts of the release phase you want to emphasize. Take note though that "Release short" should always be lower than "Release" - otherwise you'd invert the signal's phase.

This seems like a useful tool, but not an intuitive one. I would really appreciate a very brief tutorial on how to approach dialing it in for different effects. Cheers.

I just uploaded a new version. I removed the default level control and added a new one to the Transient Former itself. Plus I uploaded two mp3s - an unprocessed Drum Loop and the same Drum Loop put through Transient Former - increasing the room information contained in the drum loop. Unfortunately, I cannot upload a third mp3 that would demonstrate that Drum Loop with no room and tight attack.

If it works, congrats! A most welcome software tool. I own the SPL so will let you know ;-)
