Reaktor 5 or lower

DESCRIPTION

r'ector is a vector synth (V1.6 made in Reaktor 5.6.2). r'ector's vector control is used to crossfade among four user-selectable waves. By using the additional waveform faders, up to twelve waves (default) can be crossfaded. Each of the four user-selectable waves can be read by either a sine or a ramp. Sine usually gives a raspier, more metallic sound. Ramp leaves the audio-table waves unaltered - what you see is what you get.

One of Peter Dines' recordable-fader macros is at the heart of the vector control. Several instances of another of his macros are used to automate modulating pitch and cycling through waveforms. The knobs come from Aerobic.ens.

V1.1: changed label for the amp envelope
V1.3: knob placement of Pan and Fine
V1.4: select sine or ramp to read the wavetables
V1.5: link option for filter controls; optional manual control of vector position
V1.6: maximum filter resonance slightly lowered

Hi, I love this synth, congratulations! But I have a question : can I use the vector feature to control or drive another synthesizer? I mean, I want to keep the vector but I don't want to use the internal "Rector16" snapshots, instead other sounds, for example can I use the "Rector16" like a sequencer or controller for the SteamPipe sounds? Let me know Thanks

@Michael: In response to your suggestions I've just uploaded an update. It now gives the options of 1.) linking the filter controls 2.) manually setting the vector position. I did not add any additional modulation sources.

Cool synth, although I can't seem to get the vector pad locator to stay where I put it - it keeps snapping back to the middle X axis when I let go of it. Would also be really cool to have some modulation source and an option to link left and right filters.

I was reminiscing about my old Korg Wavestation and came across this gem. Outstanding ensemble. Thank you!

excellent ensemble! I tweaked it a little: http://bagger288.com/goldenmaster/vector-rector-reaktor-modding/

'W1' selects waveform for oscillator 1, 'W2' for osc 2 ... etc.

If you actually tried using the synth you should have seen that there are 96 different waveforms with room to add 32 more user waveforms. The knob(s) labelled 'WS' select the waveforms.

the recordable faders and vector stuff makes this very interesting. my only critique is that i'd like to see more oscillator types (more than one waveform). as is, most of the sounds it makes are the same overall timbre. i would try to modify this myself, but i'm less than a novice at building in Reaktor :-(

Slight correction. While the clock is running you can freeze the positon in the xy vector simply by clicking.

Stopping the clock turns off the automation without disabling the synth. With the clock stopped, the x-axes values of the vectors can still be changed, but the y value snaps to whatever the last y value was before the clock was stopped. With the clock running you can double-click anywhere in the xy vector and freeze its position. I hope this helps you. If you choose to show hints, everything else is annotated.

One question: How do I turn off the automation and recording without totally disabling the synth? Thanks!

Very nice clear tone. Also a very nice twist to the vector mixing architecture. Hume4 finds her very attractive.

Thanks a lot for this, John. It's very cool and clear in its concept!

It's just a free-running toy. I'd like for it to have retrigerring vector control.
