Reaktor 5 or lower
Instrument Sequencer

DESCRIPTION

I give you Booglebeat 2!.... 5 track, 8 bar, 16 step sequencer with 14 different parameters(cut, rez, hold, reverse, ROLL!, sample select, etc etc) per step. So each step can be programmed individually. There are no Knobs to control the samplers, everything is done from the sequencer window.

It also has improved Beatlookup stylee controls controlled by the computer keyboard (pretty much all keys are used for something) and a 16 step Bar sequencer. I think I've tooltipped everything, if I havent its probably obvious what it does, and Ive also made a few note's in the Instrument properties window. Please read these for more Information.

Theres only 2 snap's (just for demo purposes), and I had to reduce the sample maps to get under 20mb, so be aware when using the sample select parameter as the maps only have 24 samples in each.

ENJOY!

Update v1.3+: Should now work with Intel Macs......... hopefully! Cheers to Daswesen, Sowari, Kid Sputnik, T.O.M for helping Debug the Intel Mac problem.
Update v2+: Added CTL buttons to disable tracks from being changed by the keyboard mashing functions. The states of these are saves with the Bar. Added a cue button so if on the bars will not change untill the next bar beat. Stuffed the Vectory distortion in there. Did a bit of re-arranging, and sorted out a few bugs.... I think!
Update v2.4: minor audjustment to the way the jump & loop works.

Ive had to include duumy files with the download due to keep the size down.... please use the booglebeat2v1.5beta.ens file.

This seems to require input from computer keyboard hot keys (row beginning Z X C etc. Mouse clicking these buttons doesn't seem to do anything. Nor does use of the keys. This, together with the lack of any systematic instruction on how to use it, renders this nicely designed item rather useless.

Feel like I'm missing something. Why does the select knob only play samples 1-4 in the map editor and ignore the rest, when the sample parameter goes up to 127?

Yo Theo.... Yeah its bit tricky to select samples with the mouse. What I do is make sure sample select parameter is highlighted, or whatever parameter you want to edit, click on the square you want to change, then use the computer keyboards cursor up/down keys to cycle through 1 sample at a time. If you do this whilst the clock is stopped, you will hear the selected sample play with every keypress, and the value display(under the CUE button) will indicate what sample is selected . Same thing for the other parameters.

matthew, i've been working with this guy all day and there are a few things i changed to make this guy easier to work with. almost everything is perfect aside from the sample select. because you scaled it to 127, it's really hard to pick the right sample. so i reduced the scaling to 30, added a quantize after that so it stays with integer values and added a meter to you can dial in the right values and read them right. i know there is a meter for that, but i made my own just to keep it easy. but over all, like everyone says, great work.

Double click a square to edit all squares on a track. The mouse area does control sample select! Default value at the bottom i find is great especially if you start a fresh sample map with the sample on note 0. Personally i find the current implementation perfect for delibarately choosing one's sounds, but also for not deliberately choosing them! Fantastic instrument - provides very inspirational beats and breaks. A well deserved 10 for lack of a superior score!

Mathew, THANK YOU! This is great. Hours of fun to be had with this one.

Fantastic! Thanks for this. It would be great if there was a global sample select parameter per track, with the mouse area controlling sample select offset, with a default value in the middle of the square representing 0 ofset. It would make it easier to be deliberate about what sounds one is using.

dude. this instrument is a **(*&ing work of the gods. electribes are out of date now that you've made this basically. the CPU is absolutely amazing. i don't even understand how you did all of this keeping it so low. I'm on a G4... the keyboard control features are superior. obviously everyone already knows the only thing i think it's missing is triplets. but this is probably the #1 drum machine here now.

2 more suggestions - for the jump,it would be cool if it could go even shorter lengths - perhaps even using a clock oscillator or something. also, for the gate seq, it would be nice if you could "paint" notes on with one left-click. i know this is probably hard because of the other modes, but it would be nice!

i LOVE this (i loved v1, this is even better)! easily in my top 5 ensembles after less than 5 minutes in... amazing! one thing that would be nice - switch between internal and MIDI clock modes, like Limelite EI2. for VST you need MIDI clock, obviously, and that is very important for alot of users. but, for standalone heads like me, internal clock is nice for 2 reasons: 1-you can midi-learn tempo, and 2-when you have QWERTY FX like this, its VERY easy to accidentally hit spacebar and stop the clock. this is minor, though, im just being a pain in the you-know-what! again, excellent job!

Ive sent a mail to tech support. In the meantime theres a post in the forum looking for intel mac testers. Ive split this into 3 .ens files, Hopefully I can find which one is causing the problem and fix it. We carnt have all you Intel Mac users not being able to Boogle now, can we!

Can an Intel Mac user please try the version here: http://www.mediafire.com/?fmywzujb3x9 And let me know if it crashes or not. The only thing i can think of is an event loop problem, this may solve it.
