SAMPLE DECK OVERLAY
TRAKTOR KONTROL X1 comes with a Sample Deck Overlay – a handy addition for getting the best out of this feature. Sample Decks are a powerful creative tool for DJs, offering four slots where you can load up to four different loops or one-shot samples. You can also transfer any running loop from a track deck into a Sample Deck slot instantly at the touch of a button, opening a whole world of live remixing and editing with TRAKTOR. 1. FILTER CONTROL
The 8 high resolution potentiometers and 8 buttons provide dedicated filter control over the individual Sample Deck slots. As with effect parameters, easily select the slots you want to tweak using the buttons, then turn the filter knobs and add your own individual trademark sound to your performance.
2. VOLUME CONTROL
One push encoder per deck is dedicated for controlling the Sample Deck slots' volume – just turn the knob. All currently selected slots will be affected. Pushing the encoder will reset to full volume. Hold SHIFT to access gain control instead. The FX assign buttons stay intact, meaning that if you use two X1 controllers, you can assign the two effects units independently from one another to the Sample Decks.
3. LOOP SIZE CONTROL
This section allows control over the length of your loops. Turn the encoders to change the length - they stay in perfect sync when doing so. Push to reset to the original length. With SHIFT pressed, turning the encoder allows you to pitchbend. The HOTCUE button allows you to enter the Sample Size mode for the Arrangement section below.
4. ARRANGEMENT
By default, the 8 buttons on either side can be used to mute or un-mute each individual slot (left row of buttons) or trigger them (right row of buttons). As usual, SHIFT plus a button can be used to stop a slot - or clears it if it's already stopped. In Sample Size mode (when the Hot Cue button is on), Sample Deck slots can be conveniently switched to half or double length.

1. USING TWO TRAKTOR KONTROL X1s
One controller is used with the default mapping, controlling transport functions, looping, hot cues and effects of decks A and B. A secondary controller with the Sample Deck Overlay provides convenient control over the Sample Decks (decks C and D).
