B4 II: tonewheels not found at start-up on Mac

If you are getting the message 'tonewheels not found' from the B4 II, first please make sure you have the last B4 II update installed. You can get that either from the Service Center or from the Update Manager on our Support website.

If the problem persists, please reinstall B4 II. To do so, please remove the following files and then reinstall:

1. B4 II application folder from Macintosh HD>Applications
2. com.native-instruments.B4II.plist files from: Macintosh HD>Library>Preferences and Macintosh HD>Users>username>Library>Preferences.

Empty the trash afterwards and restart the installer using the "easy install" mode. Please update to the latest version after installation, then repair your disk permissions according to this article, and then try the B4 II again.

If the problem STILL persists, please check manually if the Tonewheels folder is located in the B4 II application folder. If it is, and you are still getting the error, please right-click (ctrl-click) on the B4 II application folder and choose 'Get Info'. Scroll down to "Sharing and Permissions" and make sure that every user has both "read and write" access permissions (see image below).

If you need to make a change in the permissions here, click the lock first to unlock the settings, then you can change the read/write settings by clicking the drop-down menus as shown in the image.

Then, lastly, click on the small 'gear' symbol and choose 'Apply to enclosed items'.

Then try the B4 II again.
