Installation process quits after a few seconds on Mac OSX 10.5 Leopard

Some Native Instruments installers require a patch in order to work under Leopard. There are two Leopard installer patches available, one for Kontakt Player 2 libraries and one for other products.

Here is a list of Native Instruments installers which require this patch (Kontakt Player 2 installer list can be found below):
  • Traktor Scratch 1.0 and 1.1
  • Komplete 4 2007
  • Elektrik Piano 1.5.0 R2 (see also this article about installing Elektrik Piano)
  • Pro-53 3.0.4
  • Some versions of Traktor 3 LE
  • Guitar Rig 2.2.2 (not officially supported under Leopard)
  • Vokator 1.2.0 (not officially supported under Leopard)
  • Spektral Delay 1.6.0 (not officially supported under Leopard)
The Leopard installer patches will solve the following problem:

After selecting an installation path for the installation and pressing the "Install" button on the next page the installation begins and a progress bar is shown, but after a short moment either the installer crashes or is skipping back to the previous page. If you experience this problem, download the Leopard Installer from here:

If you have a Kontakt Player 2 library, download the upper patch, otherwise the lower one.

Here are some additional information for the Kontakt Player 2 installer patch.

The following Kontakt Player 2 installers are concerned by this problem:
  • Pro Audio Vault - Blüthner Digital Model One
  • Best Service - Galaxy II
  • Big Fish - First Call Horns
  • Tapspace - Virtual Drumline 2.5
  • Sibelius Sounds Essentials
  • Sibelius Sounds World Music
  • Vir2 - Syntax
  • Vir2 - VI.ONE
Important Installation Note:

The monolith sample files, .nkx, will not be copied from the hotfix to the library destination. You must search the library install destination and manually drag the .nkx files from the DVDs to your hard disk.
