How to setup TRAKTOR for a "Scratch Certified" or a "Traktor Ready" device
This article describes the first steps for setting up a MIDI mapping in a very basic way. You can find an advanced tutorial below in the Related Articles section.
The first step for the configuration of the TRAKTOR setup should always be the TRAKTOR Setup Wizard. Launch the wizard from TRAKTOR's Help Menu and see if your device is included in the wizard. If it is, we highly recommend to use the template from the Setup wizard, since a lot of effort is necessary to create a controller mapping and most likely, the default mappings are fulfill the most common workflows. To use the wizard, proceed as follows:

To use the wizard, proceed as follows:
- Start TRAKTOR.
- Choose Start Setup Wizard from TRAKTOR's Help menu.
- If you haven't exported your current mappings yet, press the Backup button, especially if you have made your own configurations and did not yet export your configuration.
- In the upper dropdown list labeled "Please choose your setup" select the manufacturer of your controller device.
- In the second dropdown list, choose your specific device of the above mentionned manufacturer.
- Press Apply.
