My 3rd party MIDI controller does not work properly with TRAKTOR (Mac)
Hinweis: Eine deutschsprachige Fassung dieses Artikels finden Sie als PDF unterhalb des englischen Textes.
If you are using an external 3rd party controller with TRAKTOR and it does not work as expected, please follow the steps described in this article in order to resolve the problem.
1) In TRAKTOR's Controller Manager (in the TRAKTOR preferences), the In-Port and the Out-Port of MIDI mappings are set to 'All Ports' by default.
This might cause MIDI data being sent and received in an uncontrolled way, like functions being triggered without action, LEDs flashing randomly, unexpected sounds or TRAKTOR being non-responsive.
To prevent various issues, the in-port and the out-port should be set to the appropriate devices:
In the Device menu you find all active MIDI mappings that have been set up for controllers.

Please select all the mappings in the menu one after the other and set both the in-port and the out-port to the particular device they are intended for.

Wrong: 'All Ports' is selected for this device

Correct: Set the corresponding ports for each device in the menu

Mappings that are currently not in use should be set to 'None'.
2) If the In-Port menu does not show an entry with the name of your controller while it is connected to the computer, the driver is not properly installed. For more information on this, please contact the manufacturer of your controller.
