KONTAKT 2.2 Update including new features and Universal Binary
The earth-shattering sampler just went universal. KONTAKT 2.2 supports Intel Macs as well as adding new features and enhancements to the previous version. Check out the new demo versions for PC and Mac (Universal Binary).

The update is free for all registered KONTAKT 2 users via download.

NEW FEATURES:

KONTAKT 2.2 brings a number of fantastic new features, including:

  • Enhanced sliced loop handling with drag-and-drop, in-sync preview and more
  • Import function now also reads Battery 3 kits/cells as well as DR-008, Pulsar STS and RGC SFZ
  • Improved group management with load/save function, 128-voice groups, and new group presets
  • New modulation, tuning and envelope functions
  • Extended KSP engine with five new commands


More details on each of these features can be found in the Addendum to the manual, available with the KONTAKT 2.2 update.
Please note that you need to run Windows XP or MacOS 10.4.x in order to install and use the Kontakt 2.2 update! If you have an older OS version, you should keep Kontakt 2.1.1.

HOW TO INSTALL ON INTEL-MACs:

  • A) Install KONTAKT 2.0 from your original DVD to your Intel-Mac
  • B) Then manually copy the KONTAKT 2 library from the original DVDs to your machine before running the KONTAKT 2.2 installer.
  • C) Install the Universal Binary Update Version on your Intel Mac. Make sure to set the same library path that you used above in the update installer.
  • D) Activate the product using the included "NI Service Center" Application - DO NOT use the "Registration Tool"!
  • Activation Information for KOMPLETE 4 users: If KONTAKT 2 doesn't appear in the NI Service Center as a seperate entry, open the KOMPLETE 4 item by clicking the "+" symbol, and then select KONTAKT 2 for activation.

PC & MAC UPDATES REQUIRE ACTIVATION

  • With this update, Native Instruments introduces a new and much more convenient activation and update manager system - replacing the old "Registration Tool"
  • Whether you install the PC or Mac version, the software will run in the new "Demo Mode" after installation.
  • Simply launch the new "NI Service Center" Application which came with the update installer, and follow the instructions to quickly and easily re-activate your product.
  • After you complete this new activation for the first time, all following free updates won't need a new activation.
  • Activation Information for KOMPLETE 4 users: If KONTAKT 2 doesn't appear in the NI Service Center as a seperate entry, open the KOMPLETE 4 item by clicking the "+" symbol, and then select KONTAKT 2 for activation.
