Reaktor 6

DESCRIPTION

Neurodancer is a synthesiser based around six voices, the neuron sequencer and some FX.

The sequencer is based on the excellent NeuronDrum by Poul Vestergarde, i have added pitch info to each output channel of the sequencer. Basically each row has a counter, when it receives the number of gate impulse set at the left side, it sends out a gate pulse itself to any of the other rows you've routed it to in the matrix. The first row (N1) just gets the clock to start everything off. Depending on how you route things they all interact meaning you can create interesting things quite by accident.

You need clock running in Reaktor or you host sequencer for the sequencer to run.

Each voice is a pair of oscillators with independent 1 pole hp and lp filters and a shared volume envelope. Osc A in each pair can modulate Osc B for extra tonal variation. The volume envelope can be triggered from any of the sequencer channels, keyboard, manually or set to drone. Pitch can also be controlled globally from the keyboard. The voices are all summed then fed through the FX section which comprises a chorus, a global amp envelope, a resonant lpf with saturation, a tempo delay and a big messy reverb.

With this combination of options it is possible to create a wide variety of sounds; melodies, drones, monophonic leads and basses and things that sit somewhere between all of those things.

Please let me know if you like this or think it could be better in any way. I have uploaded a few audio examples from the snapshots i have created.

Thanks Greg. I'll have a brief go at explaining the sequencer. Basically each row has a counter, when it receives the number of gate impulse set at the left side, it sends out a gate pulse itself to any of the other rows you've routed it to in the matrix. The first row (N1) just gets the clock to start everything off. Does that make sense? depending on how you route things theD all interact meaning you can create interesting things quite by accident.

This is fantastic! There goes another lifetime :) Thank you for this. I love it... I wish I knew a little more how the sequencer works. Can't figure it out just fiddling around. Any hints would be very helpful...

some snapshots are played from the keyboard (look for the trigger settings being set to Key for some/all of the envelopes and +Key enabled in the sequencer section)
