Reaktor 6
Instrument Sampler

DESCRIPTION

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you downloaded v2.0 please don't use the randomisation/morphing functions to create new patches, it will probably crash Reaktor and even if it doesn't you will make a lot of the ensemble not work properly. Entirely my fault, rather too liberal with my use of send/receive modules........

v2.01 fixes this issue and so far the randomisation seems to have no ill effects. Now back to the show.........

DooMBoX v2.0 is here! Same drum sample engines but now with much sequencing goodness and a couple of reverbs.

The gate sequencing comes in two parts, the neuron sequencer (my version of Poul Vestergarde’s Neurondrum) and 4 table based step sequencers. The Neuron sequencer consists of a bunch of counters can be routed to each other to create interesting polyrhythms. These can then be routed to any of the 4 sequencers or used to record or delete gate events into the step sequencers. The step sequencers should be relatively obvious, the only interesting things I’ve added is a probability based skip function and independent swing for each sequencer. Oh, by the way the neuron sequencer’s timing seems a little wonky, been trying to fix that but I think that will wait till v2.01. In the meantime recording it into the step sequencers seems like the best way of using it.

I’ve also added a step sequencer to each drum voice which can be routed to all the same destinations as the modulators. When routed to pitch the output is quantised so you can even try making kind of) melodic sequences. You can also record the modulators into the step sequence instead of drawing your own.

Lastly I’ve added 2 simple modulated reverbs which can also be cajoled into doing some flanging and simple echo effects given the right settings.

If you have any suggestions for improvements/fixes please let me know, still very much learning the ropes.

I might be missing something here but the manual play voices only sound on key release. Same with Sequencer on. Any advice?

Phillipe, i have resolved the crashing problem. I'd forgotten to take all of my send/receive modules out of the scope of the randomisation/morphing. Not only was it causing lots of event loops (hence the crashing) if by some miracle the randomising avoided that it would still stop a lot of things functioning properly. Thank you so much for reporting this problem so I could fix it. v2.01 is now live and so far it seems fixed on that front.

Sorry to hear that Phillipe, I will do some investigating. I never even thought about that.

Full eco-system now ! FYI, I have crashes as soon as I try to randomise. On Mac High Sierra.

Thats great Nick. Just FYI, all 4 keys have the same sample map so they can all be equally surprising with the right settings. :)

This is great. I love that I don't quite know what's going to happen especially on the F key, which is my fave.

"oh ok" I agree! The user library makes me unlikely to buy many soft-synths because it contains such wonderful creations as this drum machine! :-)

Colin, I like your shaper to different sounds using one key only. And BTW 'oh ok' stay away or build your own instrument to show us your quality in graphical codings.
