Reaktor 5 or lower
Instrument Sampler

DESCRIPTION

I set out to build something like a Dr. Rex player, but with a unique sound and more f*ckupablity features. The loop player was pretty much built from the ground up (with much inspiration from Dieter Zobel's Rabbeat). I used some of the LFO inspired ideas from my last .ens (Six String Samurai) to create a mixer between the two players.

Not just for beats, try loading my guitar map from Six String Samurai for cut-up strumming madness.
Wolfgang Webermann (2005-02-11 13:21:59): Thanx for this upload! A more effective "Smoother" would be...ahmm...very smoothie. I think it would be nice to have this thing without any internal sequencers, i.e. to have the possib. of musical pauses, stops and things like that (oh i love pauses). What about midi-triggerable slices for using an external Audio Sequencer which gives the midi notes? But I know you Reaktor Guys love to have internal sequencers, so... never mind -
YESSSS, i'm also searching for a slicer who can receive midi :)

Yes, now it works on OSX (thanks for the heads up Ray). Will report back after I have played with it some.

Dave, this is an excellent ens. For some reason version 1.2 gave me only very faint clicks ( which is what other people are hearing I think, not actual sound "slices" ), but 2 solved this (I'm on OSX). Anyone who downloaded ver1.2 and didn't get the desired results should redownload as this is a very good rhythmic sample chopper ensemble

Alright, now it's uploaded with some samples you give you all an idea of what I was going for (a little clicky is nice in my book). Developed on OSX 10.2.8, so it should work on your Mac Chris.

Anyone have this working on OSX? All I get is rhythmic clicks, no real passing through of the actual samples. Tried all the snaps, only the basic rhythm of the clicks (which are typical Reaktor glitching, not a "created" glitch to my ears) I am on a PB 17 1G with 10.3.5.

Not bad, David, but very, very clicky. Your smoother only has a minimal effect. I personally think it could do with some re-working - unless you want the clicks to be part of the desired effect. Have a look at the Clist ensembles like -Ginsu Delay -for tips. However, it's very difficult to avoid clicks with these kind of rapid audio changes and you'll be fighting a uphill battle.

ack...no more late night posts! I looks like my server can't handle the load. I'll try and put up a new version tonight with just a few loops. In the meantime, just load in 8 of your favorite loops and have at it!
