Reaktor 5 or lower
Instrument Sequencer

DESCRIPTION

No graphics, no fancy presets, just good clean fun. Should be lower cpu usage than the original as it's now more sample-based, comes with loads of odd samples (about 30 or 35 different ones in here - hence the big file size), feel free to replace with your own.

Do rolls (stutter) by setting the "gate" for a given hit to be higher than "1" (gate values go from 0 to 1.5).

Accent can be routed all over the place to do all kinds of things.

Mute the reverb instrument for lower cpu.

Lots of individual outs can be wired up - see the ensemble structure.

Table-based shuffle for different feels. Switch to the "B" view to see (and edit!) the shuffle pattern. Probably not a good idea to edit it, as changes are *not* saved with the snapshot, but rather the whole ensemble.

See the "CL-909" instrument in the user lib for a more traditional 909 emulation.

Enjoy,
CList

I'm kinda new to this so if anything sounds a bit like remedial Reaktor I apologize...First, thank you thank you I've been testing out a lot of instruments/ensembles and this is going in the favorites bin, but--I'm using Reaktor 4.1.3 (i believe) and I'm looking at the versions list to get the most recent that will work with R4 but your V3 for CL909 shows up as and R5 esemble??? I'm I retarded or just missing something here? A little guidance would be very much appreciate! Thank you all! Chas

I'm using macs running both 10.3.8 and 10.4 and using Reaktor 5 (because this won't open in my Reaktor 4 version) and I can save a snapshot *but no table changes have taken hold*... what gives? Is the matrix not usable with my system? Please help! I love this ensemble and am desperate for snapshot saving!

If running fromt he sequencer, stutters happen when the step value is greater than 66% of the max (because each step sends a value in the range 0 - 1.5 rather than 0 - 1, so vaues > 1 make a stutter). If you are triggering sounds via MIDI, stutters happen when the gate-on velocity is higher than the value set on the "B" view of the instrument. There's really no way to control the stutter when triggering notes from the computer keyboard - you need a velocity sensitive keyboard.

how do you make the stutter work? i am unable to find a "gate" knob or slider on the instrument, and that is the way it is suggested to create a stutter. i r-r-r-r-r-really need to know! thanks!

I'm getting bugs in the Pattern memory also. When i change snaps, the names don't correspond to their snaps anymore.

the best Drum Machine for RS! p.s. it says 1.3, but what I downloded was 1.2! Also, could you add a clean setting at startup, for those who like external sequencing?

Great instrument, but am I the only person who finds the saving of changes to the table data with the presets a bit buggy? (Sorry, I'm sure this must have been a lot of trouble to do at all). For example I have a minor variation of one of the presets that I've saved and that is selected when the instrument opens that doesn't play correctly until I've changed presets and then changed back again.

Sorry about that - I thought the file looked a little big. That was one of my many mess-around versions that I uploaded before. It's fixed now. The Reverb instrument can be muted simply by hitting the "M" for the instrument - that's why it's in a separate instrument.
Chris List

er... whoops! Uploaded the wrong file last time - sorry about that folks! Jeez I wish this site would send you emails when people add comments to your instruments! Anyway, correct file is up, this one has all the changes. Reverb instrument can be muted/unmuted with the "M" button - that's why it's a separate instrument. (note to self; always download file after uploading and make sure it's the right one!)

yes i wondered why it was so CPU heavy. it is because it includes the GCD mastering instrument with it. Chris, i think it would be good if you uploaded a second version with no reverb and no GCD. the 909 is fantastic. for me it needs no extra FX (even the brinkmann delay is not needed).

its nice, but it really doesn't work with the reverb, ansd even without, on my 1,8 processor it is always around the 70% Anyway thanks for a nice machine

MIDI control is now in the latest release. As mentioned in the comments above, PLEASE be sure to check panel "B" of the main instrument to set the "Stutter trigger level".

Without being able to play it with the keyboard, its like driving a new mercedes, without weels!! Will you consider make it possible soon? Other than that, very nice work!

You are correct, that doesn't work anymore - it's only triggered by the sequencer. That's because the gate from MIDI only covers the range 0 - 1, but the sound engine needs gates in the range 0 - 1.5 for the stutters to work. I'll come up with some sort of work around and post a file in the next few days.

OK, admittedly I'm a n00b, but I can't seem to 'play' the soundengine in this from my MIDI controller, as I could the old CL-909 (i.e., hitting C plays the kick). What am I doing wrong?
