DESCRIPTION

A simple drone machine, with two parallel granulators and serial filters with numerous controls for variation.

The signal path is: uno & dos (granulators) > Filter 1 > Filter 2 > Amp.

Scan controls add periodic variation (sine wave LFO). Jitter controls add random variation (random LFO). Note: the position.scan and rate controls affect the position slider in a not-always-predictable way.

Because of file size limitations, this is the EMPTY version, without any samples or snapshots. Import your own recordings and waveforms to explore a wide range of granular and pulsar synthesis (for the latter, I recommend Jovica’s basic waveform packs from http://www.freesound.org/search/?q=basic+wave+jovica).

Download the FULL version with sample recordings and snapshots, which demonstrate a small range of possible tone colors and textures, from http://www.nofi.org/2012/04/29/melton-drone-granular-04-reaktor-ensemble/

Listen to 30 second previews of the snapshots as well as several extended personal examples at http://soundcloud.com/nofi/sets/melton-drone-granular-04

These are still works-in-progress, so please share your snapshots and any feedback with me. Details, separate download files and the CC license can be found at http://www.nofi.org/2012/04/29/melton-drone-granular-04-reaktor-ensemble/

Very nice Jeffrey...a good duo implementation of the concept of 'scanning'. Has all the things that appeal to me in a pleasing balance. I have loved NI's 'Plasma' since the beginning and I imagine this will soon become a favorite for texture explorations here...thanks!

I think the download link on this site should work now for the EMPTY version (too many periods in the filename). Cheers,

I'm not sure why the zip archive of the ENS file isn't working. I will keep trying until it works. I uploaded an MP3 with 30 second previews of the snapshots.
