DESCRIPTION

So this is yet another granular instrument. But its a bit of a different layout to other ones ive seen. Its designed to have extremely fine control over whatever grain controls there are. Whether its modulated by its Lfo or its different concept of envelopes which are shaped using 32 step event tables. Good for drones and for real in depth control of the progession of the sample. Whether you're speeding up and slowing down entire vocal passages are whatever pace you want or freezing one particular noun and warping it over a long drawn out span. Its the controls that make this boy different. Suggestions and criticisms are very welcome!

*New in 2.0. Panel B now has much more in depth intuitive editing for the Position Envelope. All the envelopes have allow you to adjust thier resolution between 4 steps to 64 steps. It includes a beat counter to adjust the envelope lengths to whatever tempo you have. The new editing features open up some new possibilities for it. Despite the new features, this one is still a bit less Cpu intensive than the first thanks to some of Sowaris suggestions. Plus i have to thank Shane Higgins for suggestions that inspired the new direction of this ensemble.

*A warning for the easily offended, theres a bit of swearing in some of the presets.

**updated 05/28/13 I've made it a little more cpu friendly and more flexible controls. I also gave it a facelift with nicer looking knobs and panel. I also included my effect "Pulse" which can be downloaded separately.

Really nice work - great for banging out ambient sounds for use in Metaphysical function

I think it would be great to take Wake and add the ability to play it (adjust pitch) on a keyboard, and add a section of sample morphing. This could be where additional samples are loaded allowing them to be morphed into each other. Really anything you come up with I'm sure I would like.

James J. I do have a update coming out for this one. Which has a nicer panel and a tempo sync feature. Aside from that, nothing new on the granular front. Did you have any ideas as to what you'd like to see come out for granular synths?

This is the best ens i've ever played. Any more granular synths in the works?

maybe its just me being stupid but I seem to have problems saving snapshots with this ensemble. When pressing return the slot gets overwritten with something completely different. Any ideas?

Hey Shane, shortening any of those envelopes to 16 steps is really simple. Right click (control click for the mac) on the envelope. Choose "show in structure" and you'll see a constant in the structure window that says 32. Just double click it and change it to 16 and that will set you up. It will screw up the presets though. You can always save it as a different name though

Really nice ens. I would like if it was slightly easier to edit individual points i.e. an option to have the freeze button snap to a beat division and if you could choose to shorten the envelopes to 16 steps. but very useful - Thank you.
