Reaktor 6
Blocks User Blocks

DESCRIPTION

Not quite a granular block, but getting there... First steps with the new Table Framework.

How to Load a Sample:

Drop a sample from Reaktors browser onto the black rectangle in the block. Save a snapshot to capture the sample, then load another sample and repeat. Save the entire ensemble to recall your samples.

Hi - about the loading: Drop a sample from Reaktors browser (go to the magnifying glass, then "Files") onto the black rectangle in the block. Save a snapshot to capture the sample, then load another sample and repeat.

Drag and drop sample to load into device.

How do you load a sound? Just a brief description would go a long way here.

OK cool thanks everyone.

Todd - don't stop now! I started to build a loop sampler block based off the new one in the library and I find it sounded odd when modulating the loop start and end points - some kind of unwanted time stretching effect. Yours sounds the way I'd expect when modulating, there's just the clicks that need smoothing. The loop fading from the library block might be worth using though. It seems to just add adjustable slew on the volume at the loop points

Thank you Todd

It would be great to be able to have an input for live sampling :-)

Total noob question. How do you load a sound?

One more thing: I'm just using slew limiting against the start and length parameters to have some control over the clicking. Latest beta I have it as a factor of the overall sample length, since bigger samples will have bigger jumps between knob increments. If anyone can suggest something more effective I'd be grateful.

Re: Clicks in standard sampling - yeah, 0 crossings - and I believe there is a latch somewhere causing it to recalculate everything as the start time modulates. I suppose that's why the windowing in granular is so important.

Ahaha Eimhin - thank you for pointing out the instruments in the user library. I had overlooked them (thinking they were old) and went straight for the "TF Macros" just beside them. The Grain Sampler is precisely what I set out to do in a block. Oh well, I can take a little embarrassment for the sake of learning! I may upload another based on it with a fresh UI in block format.

I mean, it can't be helped without changes to the sampler macro, or finding some way to delay the note until a zero crossing.

I don't think the clicking can be helped. To me it sounds like what happens when you stop a wave without it being at a zero crossing. This happens because of the way mono is handled (I think). This is why I haven't posted the sampler I have been working on, been banging my head against this problem for the past week.

Very nice Thanks

Amazing! Thanks again! Yeah, if the "clicking" is smoothed out this will be perfect. I noticed the new R6 library has three new sampler examples that are built in core, and the looper has a fade setting that works really well.

Cool thanks for spotting that. The latest (v0.3) should fix that. Working on better key tracking and smoothing now.

Thanks! Love this. There seems to be an issue once you drop a sample and then connect to other blocks the sound cuts out and the waveform display disappears. Then you have to re-drop the sample to get it playing again, but the waveform doesn't re-appear.

Updated without the reference to local files. Should fix the missing popup until I can find a way to embed the data. Drag your own sounds onto the player!
