Yes. Massive XL is fully compatible with all Massive X content, so every Massive X preset and Expansion you own works in Massive XL straight away.

Yes. Massive XL is a software synthesizer made for both beginners and professionals. With the Preset Generator, Mutator, Morpher, Animator and sub-presets, beginners can create their own signature sound in seconds. You don’t need deep synthesis knowledge, and there’s no steep learning curve. Professionals can build sounds from scratch with Massive XL’s powerful routing options, and use the same tools to speed up their sound design workflow.

Massive XL lets you turn any factory preset into a unique, personal sound in seconds. Use the Mutator or the Randomizer to create new variations, or go to the Play page and shape your sound with the Morpher and Animator.

The Preset Generator analyzes an audio file you import and turns it into four fully editable synth presets. You get four results so you can pick the one that matches best. With the Match/Imagine slider, you decide how far the results can stray from the original. At “Match,” the engine gets as close to the original sound as it can. Toward “Imagine,” the result can drift a little further. Not quite there yet? Press Generate again. Want to explore further? Send any result to the Mutator for more variations.

The Mutator changes the building blocks of your sound. Based on other presets in your library, it swaps the types of filters, oscillators or effects used in a preset. The Randomizer keeps those building blocks as they are and only changes their settings. In short, the Mutator changes the ingredients, and the Randomizer changes how they’re used. In both tools, you can lock the parts you want to keep or change them one at a time.

No. In Massive XL Player you can play the included presets plus presets from any Massive X Expansion you own. You still get the Morpher and the Animator to personalize your sound and control its movement.

With the Preset Generator, the Mutator and module sub-presets, you’ll be making more high-quality synth presets than ever. User Banks keep them organized, so you can sort presets by genre, by project or by what you need for a live set.

Yes. Massive XL will be added to the 360 subscription in 2027.

Yes. Download the free Massive XL Player, open it, and turn on Demo Mode, either from the welcome screen or from the Settings menu at the top.
