PATTERNS AND VARIATIONS

MASCHINE is great for experimenting with ideas. You can start off with the simplest of beats and build-up from there. Adding new Patterns and creating variations is the first step to developing your track.

WORKING WITH PATTERNS

Press PATTERN on the controller, and the patterns of the current Group will show on the pads. Now you can create, duplicate and switch between patterns. To resume playing, press any input mode button, e.g. PAD MODE.

Creating a New Pattern

Press any unlit pad to create a new Pattern.

Duplicating Patterns

Hold DUPLICATE, select the pad containing the Pattern you want to duplicate, then select a another pad as the target.

Switching Patterns

To switch between Patterns, press any lit pad containing the Pattern you want to hear.

CHANGING KITS FROM THE HARDWARE

To hear your Pattern with another kit, press the button with the magnifying glass icon. It returns to your most recent filtered list of kits in the browser. Turn the Encoder to scroll, then press it to load a different kit.
