WORKING WITH CHORDS

Chords are a powerful way to add depth and texture to a track. MASCHINE+ offers an easy way to produce interesting harmonic progressions, and you can even play whole chords with just one pad. The built-in arpeggiator also turns any combination of notes into rhythmic sequences, perfect for creating melodic lines. Time to get creative!

PLAYING CHORDS

To begin, press CHORDS—now, each pad you press will trigger a whole chord instead of a single note. The notes of each chord also stay within the scale selected in Keyboard mode. Tryout any of the available Chord modes by turning Knobs 3 and 4. Be aware, Chord mode will only work with polyphonic instruments such as pads or keys.

USING THE ARPEGGIATOR

When in Keyboard mode or Chords mode, press NOTE REPEAT (Arp) to activate the arpeggiator. To change the speed of your arpeggio, press any the Pads 5 to 8. Turn Knobs 2 to 8 to explore the other arpeggio options.
So far, you’ve probably used preset Sounds out of the box. Now let’s have a look at how you can customize them.
