iMASCHINE 2 is made for iOS devices running iOS 12 and higher.
iMASCHINE 2 is a completely new app, not an update. It offers many new features not available in iMASCHINE like the Arranger, Step Mode, Smart Play Keyboard, and much more. iMaschine 2 is available for $9.99 as an universal app at the App Store.
Because iMASCHINE 2 is a new app, each iMASCHINE Expansion also has a new version for iMASCHINE 2. This means that your old expansions won’t work in iMASCHINE 2, and yes, you’ll need to get the new ones. But to make this transition easier the ULTIMATE COLLECTION, packages all iMASCHINE 2 Expansions together. This bundle is available for the price of only $9.99.

See the full list of expansions in the ULTIMATE COLLECTION in this Knowledge Base article.

Once you've purchased Expansion Packs within iMASCHINE 2, you can download them on all devices connected to the iTunes account you used to purchase them. Simply use the ‘Restore Purchase’ button in the in-app store to download your purchased expansions again.

iMASCHINE 2 uses 3D Touch (for supported iOS devices) in 3 ways:

1. Start a new project or record a sample from the home screen. From the home screen of your device, press and push on the iMASCHINE 2 icon to reveal the ‘Quick Actions’ menu. From there, you can create a new project. Or tap ‘Record Sample’ to open a new project and jump directly to the ‘Sample Record’ page.

2. Get quick access to Step Mode, Mute, and Erase functions. Press and push on a pad to reveal the ‘Pad Shortcut’ menu. From there, use any of the shortcuts to speed up your workflow.

3. Control the velocity and rate of Note Repeat or the Arpeggiator.
To control the Note Repeat velocity: Open the ‘Note Repeat’ panel and select a rate. Push on a pad with varying pressure. A light touch will play the sound quietly, whereas more pressure will play the sound loudly. The brightness of the pad will reflect how loud the sound is playing.
To control Note Repeat rate: Open the ‘Note Repeat’ panel and select the ‘3D’ rate option. Push on a pad with varying pressure. A light touch will play the sound at a low rate, whereas more pressure will play the sound at a high rate. An indicator displays which rate is currently playing.
