DESCRIPTION

An update of the first synth in my "monsTrum" series, frönobuLax (named after a monster in a Zappa song) is a celebration of extreme fm oogliTude.

Hi Rick, Henrik Larsen's ensemble JX3D was crashing on me as well and he removed some internal non standard characters and it stopped crashing. in case this is a clue for the mac crashes...

haha, after waiting for a couple weeks after submitting a greatly detailed crash report to Native Instruments, I got this regarding crashing in High Sierra: "Sorry, but we cannot offer support or Community Ensembles. Please let the creator of the Ensemble know about the problem, so that they can work to resolve it." O well, some things are not meant to be (yet)

From one of my favorite poets, Wallace Stevens: "A. A violent order is a disorder; and B. A great disorder is an order. These Two things are one." :-)

Haha! Well, truth be told complexity and simplicity are kinda one and the same :)

Ha! Interestingly, my teacher was one of the major figures in the New Complexity school of music composition. I guess I'm rebelling ... when it comes to the means (simple materials), though not when it comes to the ends (complex sounds).

Thanks, Greg! I'm a great fan of arriving at complex expressive sounds from the simplest of means. Take saturation for example. I've tried dozens of distortion thingies in Reaktor ... and often (not always) the basic primary Saturation module sounds the best and most complex/nuanced.

To me, you are a master of getting great beautiful complexity out of simple "beginnings"!!

And, please, don't lose faith in this little synth ... it's capable of producing some really very cool 50s sci-fi (and more) sounds. Amazing what you can do with the simplest of foundations: the classic waveforms, FM, ring modulation, some nice distortion. And I'm a huge fan of a good EQ in the signal chain to spice things up.

Thanks Jean. Again, apologies to those for whom this crashes. I wish I could fix it, but I can't. I'll try emailing NI directly, see if they can figure it out.
