Reaktor 6
Effect Distortion

DESCRIPTION

I basically start from scratch. I take original schematics, separate it into blocks and recreate them in reaktor. My tube implementation is not what I really want to use, but it somehow works pretty good actually.

About the click, I figured that the offset was part of the model - changes in voltages offsets in tube amps being part of the magic... there are some possible workarounds that would help with the click, but I think the forum would be a better place to discuss - I don't want to have to keep checking the comments here!

You should also check the forum for the fix I posted for the cab simulator module.

Oh, that's a really good explanation of that glitch. This is really how it works in real life triode vacuum tubes, so I think it's good idea to do so in simulation. I'll try to do a step back and replace all my triodes with NI created tube models and see how it will works. And then maybe I'll start thread on forum to introduce some ideas that I have about this type of simulations.

Probably best to start a thread on the forum, because it's not really practical to converse in the UL comments.

Your 'triode' module is adding a massive DC offset into the signal. You've added a high pass to block DC, but at initialization (and at re-init), the high pass has it's internal state reset to zero, and can't react fast enough, so the massive click gets through. 'triode' needs a rethink I guess.

Yes, thank you, it looks like everybody has this problem. I'll do my best to fix it, just need some time.

Okay, if you say so, that means that glitch is really on the calculation side. I suspect that it somehow related to a signal levels inside the circuit. I'll try to redisign tubes to work in -1..1 amplitude gap, but that will need some math trickery. Stay tuned!

Huge sudden glitch (overload) with gain > +/- 0.43, everytime.

In fact I really have no idea how to emulate "cathode follower" schematics, how to emulate pentods and I'm not sure about output transformer. So, if you have some ideas about that please contact me and let's do this!

Sometimes it CAN make a really f*cking loud glitches. I have no idea what is it, actually. If you can locate the problem please contact me here, or via email.
