Reaktor 6
Instrument Sampler

DESCRIPTION

No sound? Here is the comments upshot: Go into Properties/Connect for each of the 4 instruments at the top, and add EUC to internal Midi in, then turn on the clock.

Loved the sounds, gathered some helpers, enjoyed even more, saved 50+snaps—Thank you,

Hey, Colin, definitely a compliment—LOVE the DooMBox:) And will be fascinated to see how you'll choose to sequence it! Locking most generic sequencers down to only 4 notes can often be a bit of a fiddle…

This is the first time someone has taken something I've made and built upon it, feel massively complimented. Nice one David. I had thoughts of adding a sequencer myself, this might just spur me on. :) x

Update, you don't need to add 4 Roux to internal midi, just EUC. I'm using Reaktor 6.3.1 on windows 10. David, EUC only sends midi, so the samplers would need to receive midi somehow in order to work.

Paule, that doesn't work for me. I do always start the clock though. BUT, what @shawker recommends did work!

Fwiw, I don't have anything selected in the MIDI In dropdown menus for the samplers on my end… I wonder why that would be needed for some users but not all?

Ah! Thanks for this, shawker: "I had to go into each of the 4 instruments at the top, and add 4 Roux and EUC to internal Midi in, then turning on the clock made it sound." I don't recall changing any MIDI settings in this way, but I certainly might have in some earlier stage of fiddling with other sequencers as I built this ensemble. Are these settings not captured when ensembles are saved and shared??

I doubt there's anything in this ensemble that got broken by being uploaded/downloaded, so what does that leave to be the possible problem, for those who are having problems? Maybe there's something in this otherwise ordinary post that's revealing a quirk in newer versions of R6 and newer OS, assuming we're not all using the same ones? (I'm on 6.3.1, Mac OS 10.12.6) That seems worth exploring; I guess I'll post to the forum, too, since that's a better place to discuss anything…

I'm just using my Mac's standard built-in audio, no sound cards involved. And using DooMBox as is, nothing changed on it including the way its outs were configured, so I guess first thing to check is if that's working for you on its own (remember, only C3-F3, no black keys, will trigger the samplers). Are the sequencers moving when the transport is on? I just added the sequencers right out of the UL from the links at left, and the only things I changed on them besides some text and the colors were the targets in the Send to… dropdowns for each Roux (10th item from the bottom for each sampler) and the pitch controls on the Euclids, setting each control to not respond to snap changes and making them not visible so they couldn’t be accidentally set to other MIDI notes. I also extracted the Euclids from the ensemble they were in from their UL entry, bringing them up one level in the Structure and deleting the synth and outputs they were originally connected to. Until the sequencers in their container were moved up to the top structure level their settings weren’t being captured in the master snaps. I guess the only thing I can think to suggest would be to add my additions onto the original unedited version of DooMBox yourself, and see if you can get it working on your end when set up the same way. I doubt my Master snaps would still work, and they’re the most interesting part of the post imo, simply because of the possible permutations already explored in them.

still no sound for me here. I'm running R6 in Catalina. Not sure if that makes any difference. Opened it in DAW and ran clock there too with no luck.

Hmm… just downloaded this version and it works fine here. You've got to start the transport of course for the Eu. and Roux sequencers to move. The 4 samplers only respond to C3, D3, E3, and F3 notes when playing without the seqs; the Eu ones are preset to those notes, and the roux are labeled to match, too… Please report back if still no sounds, or if yes! TIA!
