DESCRIPTION

***UPDATE: added info tips on most of the parameters

15 years after Lazyfish' and Erik Wiegand "Anima", Anima Mundi rebirths as an experimental set of tuned BandPass filters controlled by polyphonic LFOs.

Comprised by the instruments Body and Soul, each one controlling the source and filtering of sound respectively.

On the Soul instrument, the bandpass filter frequencies are tuned using the Harmony and Pitch Index macros. A huge collection of chords, scales as well as harmonic series and microtonal tools are provided. Harmony modulations can be sequenced using the internal clock (don't forget to press play), also featuring a probability chain based sequencer.

The LFOs section is also a dense universe, and allow the control of both band energy and band Q. Feel free to experiment with the different wave-shaping tools, as here is where you define how the sound is going to be sculpted through time.

The Body instrument of Anima Mundi provides the sound source which is being filtered afterwards by the Soul section. It features a simple stereo tone generation tool featuring noise, saw, square, impulse and geiger oscillators. It can be bypassed to allow audio input to feed Soul directly, in the same way the original Anima ensemble worked.

This engine is pretty cpu hungry on its actual 120 voices configuration. Reduce voices for lighter processing.

I experienced some buggy functioning on LFO/partial ordering... turning OFF/ON the ensemble again fixes the issue, but annoying anyhow. There's also room for improvement on frequency damping algorithms, and overall aesthetics/GUI complexity... maybe will be sorted out on V2....

enjoy!

Hey Greg! you're right... my ensembles are usually pretty cryptic... i just made an update with info tips on most of the parameters, hope it helps clarifying some of the functions!

I've spent quite a few hours with this and was wondering what some of the parameters are. Like "|x|", "Q", "Step" etc. I know its asking a lot but was wondering if some of these could be tool tipped. I think that would help speed up my understanding :) I want to get to most out of this for my music! Thank you again for this!
