Reaktor 5 or lower
Instrument Sampler

DESCRIPTION

A useful device for your live gigs and re-mix adventures

Quantize the selection of your samples in a Beat Loop Sampler.

Also Quantize Muting and Un-Muting of break beats in your performances.

Yes, in Reaktor it is possible to change beats and bring them in and out of the Mix, on the beat.

If you select a quantize of 2 bars, a new beat will be selected at the beginning of the next 2 bar cycle.

Use the On/Off button to cut the audio, or bring it in, exactly on the beat.

Quantizations of 4 bars, 2 bars, 1 bar, 1/2 bar or 1 beat can be selected.

I have included loads of texts and infos with the ensemble, if you have
questions, please put them in the comments section. BUT please read them before using the ensemble

Thanks to Benjamin Golinvaux for the TimeQuantz macro

and Mono Logo for the Loop FX Q

also thanks to clist for the use of his modified Deck.ism

This is the second upload in a series called "it's a worry",
it is a ticklish co-production.

NB!!!! the Beat Loop Sampler likes all of your breaks to be the same number of bars such as ALL breaks lasting 1 bar, or 2 bars, or 4 bars, or 8 bars etc etc.
If you load one loop of 1 bar and another loop of 2 bars, the changeover will stutter.

btw, ONLY 2 BREAK BEATS are supplied for demo purposes.

Please replace them with your own.

You may need to save the ensemble and load again because sometimes reaktor plays "replaced" loops incorrectly.
Saving and re-loading will enable you to hear them correctly.

i have included an .ism in the upload where it is possible to have up to
16 samples. Have a look at this as it shows how samples need to be mapped. No samples are included in the .ism. You will have to press cancel when asked for the samples.
Then you should "replace" them with your own.

Great stuff! Instead of list of samples, can I choose the samples with my midi keys so that I have this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KDd_YY7fTI&feature=related + the quantize would have to be up to 1/16th because 1 beat is 1/4th I believe?

thanks daniel but also thanks to mono logo because without his ensemble (Loop FX Q ) i did not understand how to make use of the "TimeQuantz macro" ( by Benjamin Golinvaux ). with a bit of lateral thinking, it is possbile to build a "Live" ensemble in reaktor.

Great job Phil and with the quantize i finally see the light!!!lol....i even did a small snapshot selector using quantize and prg change..."Snx2prg" it's a simple design and i'll be working more on the song position but it's useful for me and hopefully for others...anyway thanks again

Phil I have built a small X-fader, that´s works the way, I described it. It was in fact very simple, if you want I can e-mail it to you. My Email is monologo@webspeed.dk

ok.......a new day and new thoughts. mono, your crossfade idea, would be easy if there were 2 beat loopers. i have used this for live gigs and it is nice. i have been working on a sequenced cross fader. in the next month i will upload a new version with 2 loopers and quantized cross fade.

yeah, right.......in your dreams mate ;-) seriously, the samples should sort of go with each other, if you are going from one sample to another they should flow, if you know what i mean.

Way to go Phil!! We need some more of these useful instruments to make up for all the random stuff. If one takes the time, Reaktor can do almost anything related to musicmaking, not just produce sounds. For now I have only 1 thing, which I think might be a bit difficult to do: When one selects a new sample, it often sounds better if there´s a small (or big if it´s a sample that ends with a crash) crossfade between the two samples.

Very useful indeed, Phil......and you've obviously got a VERY witty designer working on your graphics.....
