DESCRIPTION

Ah, Steampipe!
The instrument that singlehandedly inspired me to buy Tassman to get "more" physical modelling, and then shoved poor T's face in the mud and made it whimper... (String Studio seems quite a bit more robust, btw, but still NO contest when it comes to weirdness, aggression, and...what? The Reaktor Factor?)

Steampipe 2, the R5 update seems to have added some stability, a sorry little arpeggiator (multiple octaves at least, really! Good thing I've got a hardware arpeggiator; Steampipe 2 does shine with it; WHY can't we have a great arpeggiator .ism in Reaktor??), and a cool Unisono mode that has a neat twist: Slow-attack envelopes retrigger with a fast attack when played while another note is held; try this out in all the FX with Glide in the name. And it even accepted my old R3 UL Steampipe snaps, which is what I started with for this batch.

Be sure to try these with a real keyboard, not just the qwerty keys; Steampipe 2 makes much of velocity, and I took considerable advantage... Enjoy, and send up some snaps yourself!

I like these sounds. I wish I have more "bread and butter" sounds like this.

Try loading these into Steampipe running under Reaktor 4 - BOOM! Crashes the program. D.

Well, I take it all back: There IS a cool arpeggiator in Reaktor: Inside clist’s Koyaanigatsi, recently updated in the UL. It was quite simple to patch it into Steampipe 2, and it even interacts nicely with the built-in arp. Don’t know if I can post my cobbled-together ensemble, but I’ll post a screen shot of it in the forum; thnx, Chris; shoulda known:-)

You’re right, of course, and it’s definitely on my to-do wish-list; trouble is, that list is too damn long, and stuff I don’t know HOW to do tends to sink to the bottom! Was hoping somebody would pipe up with references to all the arpeggiators I’ve overlooked;—)

WHY can't we have a great arpeggiator .ism in Reaktor?? perhaps you have to build one then??
