DESCRIPTION

This object receives: 1. Range (number of ticks per pattern). 2. Modulo (song position).

Designed to work with 'Clock" but can be wired to any other object (like song position etc).

Real time quantize receives midi contls. (poly), store them and then send them on specific time.

Concept: let's say we're playing something and want to add an instrument, note, sample etc at specific time. Usually we have to 'listen to the rhythm' and 'to play with it'. Unfortunately we're, as humans, unable to be accurate as computer can so we need to ask the computer to help us.
Playing live with live players is one thing, nothing 'quantize', everything has a deviation of maybe known 'human percentage', which make the music 'human'. Unlike 'human performance', when we play a loop or using a drum machine the 'human deviation' disappears and 'total accuracy' takes place. This is a fact which we can't get over, no rhythm manipulations can fill like human performance and this maybe the characteristic of computer performance.
I want to play 'live' with my computer; if I play virtuosic it might be ok because no virtuosic music is totally quantized. But when it comes for example to sample that should be played exactly on the first bit and be stopped exactly on the third sixteen's… then I have to use Real Time Quantize.

View B: the upper 'text' is IC Sends so you can wire them anywhere, usually to buttons. The lower list is quantize time.

There are 3 different quantize settings; you can add more of your own if you need to. Also possible to use midi Notes with the object 'Chan. Message' because it's monophonic, add then yourself if you need to.

View A: After you've wired the IC Send there no need to watch the entire table, so it's recommended to switch to view A to watch only the quantize settings.

Hi, I kwnow it's a bit old but hey never too late for a thanks... I was exactly looking for this, it's great...Thanks a lot... I was wondering if it would be complicated to add a bypass button for the release qantization? I mean I use this to quantized button press but then it quantizes when I push but also when I release the button...I would like to be able to release it straight away without quantification. Here I use the button in gate mode... maybe something to bypass the module when the value is decreasing...??? If you have an idea... Cheers!! Brice

Sorry but I did get lost... Can't even find a module or anything called 'Ctrl. In' and you structures are a too complicated for me to figure out. I may try to learn a little from your structure and built a simple midi note quantizer myself but you're welcome to help If you can. Thx

Yes you can, but you need to put 'Chan. Message' instead of 'Ctrl. In', then to filter the type of message you want to be stored. Make a patch that can do that, then replace the Ctrl. In. If you get lost inside the patch I can send you something but it'll take time, maybe a week or so.

Can I use this ens. to play midi notes quantized to a synth or Memory Drum 2? Where will I put 'Chan. Message'?
