DESCRIPTION

Rhosyn
4/8 channel polyrhythmic step sequencer with independent control of sequence length, direction, offset and x-offset
Panel A:
Gate Sequencers:
Outputs Gate Events unlike other sequencer blocks which output Audio Gates... Sorry :)
Panel B:
Modulation/Pitch Sequencers:
Outputs numbers in 0-1 format to be used for whatever you like... modulation sequences, pitch sequences.
GUI by Brett Lavallee
Allows very quick sequencer damage to occur....

Plays nicely with clock dividers :)

UPDATE 2.2
refixed morphing stuff
should be ok now

UPDATE v2.1
fixed xy pad resetting #x and #y controls
removed morph slider from preset saving etc.
tidied up some internals

UPDATE 2.0
added morphing section - have fun....

this is a really great sequencer. I seem to have an issue though as i can't seem to modulate anything, also the x y knobs have strayed into the pitch sequencer part rather than the correct morpher panel. both version 2.1 & 2.2.

You've made the sensible choice with the morpher. Namely, that you're morphing between 2 snapshots. Xpos of the X-Y pad defining left and Ypos defining right ends of the morph. Works a treat!

@jason corder by using the offset control you can draw up to 32steps while only accessing 16 at a time by modulating the offset you get a whole lot more.... you can easily reset the sequencers to show 64steps but it can get messy and i built this for me to use live.... i'll look at extending the functionality if there's enough interest.....

very useful thank you david! if i may suggest for a future version, would love to see up to 64 steps for making more intricate beat patterns :]

Hi David, may i suggest you disable "Include in Snapshots", under the Function tab, for the Morph slider. It's quite a feat that you've made the Snapshot module do this!

hey Greg i can reproduce that.... is to do with the #y control resetting??? i'll get on it

Hi David, this is such a great concept but for me the morph section seems to easily break and become static (no longer appears to read the presets). Its happened for me every time I try to use it and I'm not sure what makes it do this. I watched the last time I opened it and it appears it stopped working when I moved the mouse to the extreme upper left corner of XY morph pad.

Thank you David. i've since learned that those controls are saved to snapshots. So the XY wasn't doing anything erroneous. i'm yet to make use of the morph slider though.

@Omar i'll take a look am away at the moment so may be a while hope you enjoy it in the meantime...

The same occurs with the "Time" (morph) knob, except it returns to its maximum.

This is GREAT! One issue i found is if you go to maximum of Y coordinate, on the Morpher, then release the mouse, the "#x" and "#y" dials return to 1, on next click, if they were set to >1.

hey Kai the mod sequencers are calibrated to 24 values on the y axis per step so they can do pitch easier the gate ones output 100 values for a more velocitified impulse...

Awesome. Polyrhythms - so simple conceptually, so difficult to execute (as a human), so richly challenging to listen to, and this so elegant in its design and function. Wonderful, thank you. What is the technical difference between the two types of outputs gate and pmod please?

David, great work! You do not need to modify it to send MIDI out, just use a block. See forum post I just made here. https://www.native-instruments.com/forum/threads/rhosyn-wired-for-midi-out.267934/

thank you! interested in alternative version!

@Lowe Zwei yes but you will need to multiply mod sequencer output by 127 before MIDI out for full range I haven't tried this but it should be ok the gates carry velocity information but, again, blocks use 0-1 range so you would prolly have to modify internally if there is enough interest I could do an alternative version
