How to set up your Kontrol S-Series MK3
Step 1: Download, install, and run Native Access
Native Access is a small cloud-based app that handles downloads, installation, and updates for Native Instruments software.
- Download Native Access
- Start Native Access and log in with your NI username and password. If you don't have an account, you can create one in the app.
Step 2: Plug in your keyboard
- Plug the keyboard into your computer using the included cable
- Switch it on and wait for start-up
Use the adapter to connect the provided USB-C cable from the keyboard’s HOST port to your computer’s USB-A port. Then connect a USB-C power supply (5V, 7.5W or higher, 1.5A or higher) to the keyboard’s USB-C power supply port.
Check the manual for more information.
Step 3: Enter the serial number in Native Access
- In Native Access, select Add serial, and enter your serial number as shown on the card in your product box and on the underside of the keyboard.
- It may take several minutes before your software is ready to be installed. You can check availability with the refresh button.
Step 4: Update your hardware
- Update your hardware via the Hardware Connection Service in Native Access. This is the service that connects your plugins to the hardware
- Go to Applications, located in the top navigation bar
- Install Hardware Connection Service
Step 5: Update firmware
- Go to ni.de/kontrol-update to download the firmware installer.
- Open and run Device Updater
- Important: Do not unplug the device or let the computer go to sleep during the update process!
