Newtonian AmbieGarde
An alternative sequencer for AmbieGarde, or anything
DESCRIPTION
Besides the sequencer already built into Paule's wonderful AmbieGarde version of his pro-53 remake, there are a lot of snaps nicely tweaked to work well with a sequencer. I was working on tweaking my own, when I got bored, and started fooling around with other User Library sequencing options. Here's the result, a pleasing little noise bomb, I find, with many surprises in wait…plus plenty of use elsewhere. I simply set Ambie's built-in sequencer's On switch to Snap Isolate, deleted the synths from the old Newtonian Bouncer UL device from Chris List and set it to drive the Ambie in Properties, added some Dines Freshmaker to mess with the pitches from the bouncer and the freq knobs on Ambie, and saved us our ears with the sweet little Maximizer by Laurent Sevestre. And then set about making a few instrument level snaps for the new additions, then some ensemble level ones for the whole thing. Click on the background (see Star in the screenshot) to see those, and on the Fire! Button to reset the Bouncer, or just gesture with your mouse over its XY. Shape your pitch sequences with the Freshmaker's pucks, and you're off. Not all combos work well, but the snaps in the Ambie's first bank seem particularly easy to get good stuff from, while the "almost stable" snaps in the Bouncer are also pretty reliable for getting lots of triggers. And of course, many other IC targets are worth exploring on both the Bouncer and Ambie; just duplicate Freshmaker a time or two in the structure top level and start exploring their IC drop-downs. MANY thanks to all the parts-makers and especially to Paule for the pro. Your genius makes Reaktor Leggo SO much fun for us cable monkeys.
