DESCRIPTION

If you enjoy the mini version, the full version is an absolute monster and available at www.goremall.com . I am having a cyber-Monday sale so everything is half off until Tuesday!

The Full version is a more intricate version of mini. Mini is not a dumbed down version by any means, I don't like the idea of giving someone half of a product even as a demo so these are two separate machines that do two separate things. Mini is designed to have pre-mapped samples at a specific pad, so pad one is always kick, pad two is always snare, etc. and has an easier to use but limited sequencer.

With the full version of Blood Drums, you can map any sample map to any pad, for example you can have pads 1-4 be all kick samples or kick kick snare snare, and you can also drag and drop your own samples, save them to snapshots, and ultimately create your own thing. The sequencer is more advanced in the Full version as well. Full version comes with 94 pre made kits and sequences, over 500 samples, and 100 MIDI files.

Updates in the user library (Mini) version -
- I took the (very daunting) task of mooving the presets to the instrument heirarchy and not ensemble heirarachy. This will make is much easier to create you own rack with other instruments and be able to browse presets via the panel bar.
- New Logo design, I felt the old was too messy.
- Added a new drum kit and 5 new drum beats in the 120 category.

Samples:
The samples in all of these I have either made myself, or made from drum generators such as the snare emulator in Reason or rolled the Dice in Polyplex to create custom sounds. You are free to use the sample maps in your own ensembles as well if you like them.

Thanks!

Yeah that autocorrect function can manifest some dark humor at times... With some time spent, I gotta say the GUI for the sequencer here is super intuitive now, with nice tweak-ability of all kit sounds at a swipe. The pad kit setup too is so super smooth for the live jam, really sweet! This is a compelling teaser for the "Full" version while being not at all that "light" as a demo. The interesting kits even more fleshed out for the finale, plus the new - straight into the jam flow of the new setup make this one of the top "groovebox"/drum sequencers in the UL and the only one (so far) on that dark wave that I know of. There are many seq variants yet never enough but I am truly appreciating this!

Thats hilarious lol Its the stupid autocorrect on my phone, it always thinks Bindlestiff is Blindstaff which is odd because I don't even think Blindstaff is a word lol Glad you're enjoying the updates! I think having the sequencer be song synced and not gate synced works a lot better for this particular structure.

Ok I had a little difficulty, but blindstaff? haha - have you ever watched Zatoichi? killer update tho', bloody amazing, cool as a crypt!... what was in your bundle/bindle here, always ends up in mine, the "stiff" bit is bc we are talking about the "light"/demo version after all

Thanks for the feedback blindstaff. Thats a great idea, I'll add a switch to select note triggered sequences or a song position player in future updates. Cheers!

Great sound, interesting kits. Only gripe is the specifics of triggering the seq. It is good when you can just start the clock/push "play" instead of a specific key note. Could you not have a "unison" button like on eg the Ob synth, for live jam/"self" accompaniment, or maybe a bypass? Excellent demo, nevertheless. Thanks!

@Jon: Thank you for your answer. Doesn't change the fact that this ensemble is very, very inspiring and combines extremely exciting drum sounds in the kits. I like rather unbloody and simple GUIs, but this is just your distinctive style. Twisted Tools once helped me to optimise some things directly in the core, as my 'mimumachine' also made the computer smoke. Just as an idea... Ah, and spelling mistake, of course I meant 'silverBIRD' ;)

Thanks Einmeir. Yea I'm in the same boat. I can't use it either because it spikes at 30 on mine. The only reason I don't work harder to reduce cpu is because most people have far superior CPU's than my core I5. The mixer is what eats up most of it but and that's after reducing it by about 50% lol

It took me a quick look to understand the structure of the 'snapshots' to get the sequencer working, but then: Great! Super good samples, great patterns and an almost self-explanatory GUI. Unfortunately, the cpu on my old MacBook Air in A'Live races to over 30%, which is why I'm not sure yet whether I want to afford the full version, other sample-based drum machines (I still love the 'Silverbox' for instance) run at only 4-5% cpu - so something is eating up massive performance here. But anyway, thanks for the free version, VERY inspiring!

Thanks Jon. That helps a lot. Snare's a bit tricky, tho as setting the DEC and REL up interferes with flams and ghost notes. Still- BRILLIANT release mate. Thanks again :)

Each one of the pads has a length (decay) and hold (release) knob. Set these all the way up and it should fix the problem. Otherwise I may need to add a MIDI out module. I've run into the problem you're having and a number of different set ups with MID drumkits. I think the issue is they send very short MIDI gates unlike a standard controller that holds a gate as long as you press it.

Works great with my trigger pads, but not so great with my MIDI drum kit. I think the transients are too quick for it. Can't quite figure out where to put a hold module in Jon. Please...anybody?
