DESCRIPTION

Quadra Kick is a simple, yet extremely powerful drum synth, which is focused (but not exclusively) on the needs of the Psy-Trance, Goa (and similar styles) scene.

It is based on the idea that, why you should have one kick and not 4 (or more) to play simultaneously, each one with its own parameters, but sound as one!

It has 4 sampler modules, each one contains a high quality studio kick sample (one from Dado, one from Kris, one from Shivachandra and one from me), plus a mixer and a compressor. Samples has been selected very carefully (to "match" perfectly), however they can be replaced with other samples of your own choice.

This is my first "complete" work! I experiment sporadically with Reaktor since many years and have build few modules for fun and for my own needs but this is the first time I've pay attention to full quality graphics and to general aesthetic.

I hope that some of you will find some good use for this!

@ Sunborn: may I suggest one improvement? During my work, I found that the separate "style" adjustment for each sound is rather "over-engineered". The workflow in the DAW would be much easier, if one central style knob would affect all 4 sounds alltogether.

I love this one! It is a lot of fun automating the controls in the DAW. I made some tracks already using this tool. It sounds great.

@bindlestiff, understood! well, what is a forum without responding, eh? ...from my part, after... 12 years watching it, i finally decide to make an account and participate somehow... :-p it's never too late i guess ^_^

Not for your drum module, it's just great. I just mean in general, when I could just click a box and get ie - a scope view, instead of all possible features continuously banging, flashing, gobbling CPU. The collapsible "scope" just an e.g... but all this text is better for the forum, thanks for responding!

@bindlestiff ...since i am (first of all) a musician, my first aim is, things to be simple, useful and practical, without anything unnecessary... i would never add a scope on a drum module, i can't see a purpose on this... ...but you, of course you can! ...this is the purpose of this library after all, right? we all take ideas (and macros!) from each other to build our own thing :-) Go for it!

Yeah, I completely hear what you're saying, I have suffered retinal damage on top of preexisting stigmatism, and know exactly how frustrating a micro GUI can be. I especially struggle with knob/slider increments in these circs. This totally was not a dis of Quadra Kick, only a query. I personally would like a collapsable view for many features internal to GUI, like cool scopes, etc that only require occasional perusal. Maybe I should try contributing towards that build, instead of bugging? Peace

@lilpil thanks for comment! :-) But the fact is that i am doing things first and most, for my own use, so... i make things huge, on purpose, because: i use large computer screens, plus that i am old enough to have presbyopia = small is very bad for me! To be honest, i had to "remix" (re-create) a lot of old nice stuff from the user library, and make them big, in order to see them! (or just to fit nice on big screens). However, the ability to shrink the GUI, is a very good idea, but i have no clue how to do it. If anyone knows and willing to share this knowledge i would be happy to do it.

Hey, this is a very nice sample-based quad drum. Thanks for sharing! My only request for potential updates, would be the ability to shrink the GUI, or perhaps simply a smaller one that would fit more smoothly into a larger ens setup. thanks
