DESCRIPTION

2.0 Updated to 5.15 file format, hopefully this will fix the issue for Mac users.

2.1 Includes "Safe Mode" version to fix Mac and certain Windows Vista users with issues running the original. Now includes fixed glide mode.

This is a project I started in 2005, and more or less finished in 2006. I've been one of those "I code all of my own plugins" artists, and I don't typically share my creations, however, I've had a change of heart lately. This started as an emulation of various EMU technologies detailed in the EMU patents, and David Rossum's papers at the IEEE. It eventually evolved into something different, but I will say it sounds remarkably hardware like(as well it should).

basic envelope configuration
Uses almost no CPU when not playing notes

*I elected not to include a suite of effects(i.e. add your own), if there is sufficient demand for future releases, I'll consider including some of mine.

Known limitations and bugs:

*Can only load one sample at a time(no multisamples). Reaktor has no support for object oriented programming, it would make it a nightmare to implement and use. The main purpose is to playback long samples stretched across the entire keyboard range.

*I believe this bug is in Reaktor and not my programming(feel free to prove me wrong), but when changing audiorate switch positions on the panel, you will get distortion and hung notes. The fix is to turn the main ensemble power button on and off after changing the switch.

*This ensemble was designed to work at 88.2/96khz(higher is OK). AFAIK, it will work at 44.1, but the sound quality will be somewhat diminished.

*Offline rendering mode cannot be used in real-time(if you don't believe me, try it).

*I've made some knobs invisible, because they were for my use only, and I didn't feel that these were really important parameters for end-users.

*I made the glide/portamento knobs invisible, because it seems that I broke it at some point recently without realizing it. It was a very good original glide module I made myself, if there is sufficient interest, I will consider fixing it.

Crash. OSX 10.6.8, Reaktor 5.6.1. Loaded 44.1, 16bit approx. 8s sample.

Got it working with Mac importing wav´s but no big deal... gating was buggy. Nice idea, though.

Hi all... First off, you have to double click on the table module, click on the "load file" button on the first tab, and then load the wave there. There is no other way to do it that is going to be any more elegant, this is a limitation of Reaktor. Otherwise, I'd have been forced to use the builtin sampler module, and could not have emulated(and expanded upon) any of the EMU interpolation engine. In regards to the Mac crash: I've used this only on XP, with Athlon64, Core2 and Phenom processors, without issue. I never upgraded to 5.1.5 from 5.1.4, was there something Mac-related going on between those 2 upgrades? I can try upgrading to 5.1.5, save and re-upload

Ryan, it should say Reaktor 5.1.5. are you sure you installed properly. anyway, this does crash my PPC G4 Mac Mini and i definitely have 5.1.5. i will try this on my Intel Macbook and report back

I finally loaded a sample and it played the 1st load but crashed on the 2nd load.

So I've tried a drag and drop approach and it hasn't worked. How do you load a sample into this thing? (I'm not a programmer, just a user)

Do you see the Table module there next to the empty macro, that where they go. I haven’t been able to load a sample it crashes Reaktor every time I try to load a wave.

Well, the initial snap works for me but I can't work out what you mean in the info presented in How To Load Snaps, specifically, I can't see the table module you've described above the macro that says "Samples go here ^^^^". I'm confused why you've made the sample loading such a convoluted mystery? Why not just have it on the front panel like the EMU you admire. Anyone else wanna have a go?

Must be me, but this just crashes immediately. Running reaktor on a PPC G4. Version # 5.1.2.009 which is odd in and of itself since I've installed the 5.1.5 update. Anybody?
