DESCRIPTION

This is a pretty good model of how the gain reduction is created in the SSL 4000 series bus compressor.

Time constants, thresholds, and ratios behave in a similar manner.

more updates - this update just performs a little math in the gain reduction circuit so that it doesn't...well anyway- maybe this is the more of the sound that you were looking for...maybe it's not.

redid the bypass as well.

Thanks for making this, Benjamin. Sounds nice when used subtly, maintains image well too, loses me when pushed - doesn't grab or pump like I'd expect a 4k comp to do, but I like it. Very modest and well behaved. A good tool to have available. Appreciate it!

Hey Benjamin, this seems to be also quite good, like your other compressors. I'm using it on a track for glueing together a drum group and so far it's sounding nice. Thanks for sharing and keep up your good work.
