      Hey Irv,
I noticed in one of your posts that you use the Z2 basically as a battle mixer - did you replace the stiff upfaders? If so, with what? I like everything about the mixer except those damn up faders! Not only are they super tense but the curve is very mellow as in you can hear the signal pretty much all the way down until its off...

I never been one for cutting on the line faders even when I was battling. To me the stiff upfaders are not really a problem. I wouldn't mind some control over the curve. I actually have a spare 1st gen mini innofader. I bought it on eBay off some kid who switched his crossfader for a full size innofader.

I watched a vid and learned how to change the curve manually via the calibration - instead of putting the faders all the way down to the bottom (like it says to) you put them half way down/up instead - works real good - obviously only when using Traktor not as an analogue mixer...

      Hey irv,

You answered some questions for me on the forum. Do you mind if I ask why you use both serato and traktor? I'm new to traktor and thinking I should sell my sl box. If too busy, no prob!

I actually try not to use Serato anymore. I use it in cases where I really have to but, rather spin on the Z2 because the effects, cues and loops. In NYC it's 99% Serato so I get weird looks when I spin on Traktor but, once they see I can DJ they get over it.

You might need your SL box depending where you spin. What city are you in?

I barely use Serato now. My SL4 gets almost no use. I mainly use when I need to practice for upcoming gigs I have to use Serato for. I much prefer using my Z2. I don't actually need a serato box since my crew owns an SL1/SL3. My SL4 is kind of useless besides using it for practice. In NYC you will never find anything besides Serato boxes or Mixers and for that reason I probably will always keep around a Serato box.
